What happened at the end? The last scene in bed, who is who? What timeline?

    Peachyblue June 22, 2025 4:55 am

Each Suhyeok went back to his respective timeline.

The ending was Jinwoo saying "don't go" to Suhyeok from the present. So they're still together. The entire time when faced with a younger Suhyeok , Jinwoo just felt tired, wondered what's the point of holding onto the Suhyeok in front of him because there's eventually going to be break up and they're not going to be with each other. It felt that he was too spent to be in touch emotionally with himself, not even realising the hurt inside him. That's why the ending was him pushing all that aside, now understanding just how hurt and broken he had been feeling without Suhyeok, seeing his love for him and finally truly holding onto him.

The last two chapters were Suhyeok's pov: he felt that Jinwoo didn't love him, fell out of love and just stuck with him begrudgingly. He started to believe that he loved Jinwoo more but Jinwoo did love him, always had loved him and showed him the same; the fatigue was never an excuse for hating him it was truly just fatigue. Jinwoo on the other hand saw his perspective from the last 10 years, 5 years, to now. That Suhyeok has always loved him, had him in his eyes but his fatigue and emotional absence turned him away. They still loved each other. That's why in the end they fell asleep facing other showing that they both now remember each other and the 10 years they spent together.

( Also the present Jinwoo couldn't remember what 18 year Suhyeok or even Suhyeok in general liked (meat that is). But when the present Suhyeok met 24 year old Jinwoo, before work got him tired, he still remembered it) It just shows that the present Jinwoo didn't fall out of love, or hate him; he had let life get in between, forgotten to make space for Suhyeok, which is still very sad and honestly how break ups happen really but the thing was they both realised that they both felt that there was no love between them or the other person hated them but it was still there and all those memories and years helped them realise just how much the other mattered to them. That's why they got back together.

Man, thank you for coming to my Ted talk

We recently tackled in our psych class that most of abusers were abused as children, which seems also to be the case of Rieder. Some panels shows that he was obviously abused by his adoptive father. I think maybe he somehow sees himself in Geom? So he did that everything to Geom, to see if he can survive shits like that? Also, didn’t Geom somehow look up to Rieder, by wearing similar clothes and such, I kinda forget, maybe because of the fan translation but I didn’t understand it much. What do u guys think about it?

And also the prosecutor, I kinda didn’t expect him to like Geom that much since at first he was just like it’s all fun and games and discard when bored. But he somehow got so attached to Geom and still can’t move on after years… I actually thought he’ll be a good person at the end (but he did something good tho by cleaning Geom’s name that time). Any thoughts about him?

I spent two years in psych before shifting and yes, that seems to be the case with Reider. He feels control over situations and people.

As for the prosecutor, we did see a glimpse of his what ifs. What if he and Geom met at a totally different situation? He had imagined Geom living a normal life and meeting him, but he also mentioned he still would have preferred the broken version.

He could have been normal, but the circumstances are far too complex. I do think his new life overseas will teach him things.

Wooyeon is such an understanding, mature, and a loving man. Geom is so lucky to have him. I enjoyed a lot reading this! Reading this reminds me of the time I read dark stories like this one. Great read.

He made up his mind and risked his life too, he knew what he had to do. His life was all he could offer and he did. He loved Geom and he knew the rest didnt stand a chance hehe tbh everyone knew they couldnt take his place like ever

1) if his mother’s debt were all paid, who are the debt collectors/kidnappers? why did they target Lee Geom’s house, killed his mother, and took him?

2) in chapter 48, what does Rieder whispered to Wooyeon mean? this one “he knew everything but still hiding it, geom really enjoyed with you”

cliffhanger bro

I kinda symphatized with Nami there, all these years, you’re coming back just ruin the relationship they had for a decade?? Just because you want him again? If not for the project, if they didn’t reunite, those two would get married… But still, Nami chose this path herself.

Everyone one is selfish here. (and it’s inevitable)
Nami knows that Don is in love with someone but still went after him.
Haero, I don’t want to explain that.
Don, choosing the guy (who keep running away from him and made him suffer for a decade) because it’s his true love… *sighs* glad it's a happy ending tho!
