The townspeople's reactions to his monster insinuated that the rotten had already been around, they quite literally used the term and knew that she should be killed. But supposedly our main character and this dude met in school and went to school together when the first outbreak happened and everything went to s***..... And up until that point there was nothing mentioned about the rotten, there was no protection in place, emergency protocols, nothing. And our MC was confused when waking up and, him waking up from the nurse's office was his first experience and exposure to the concept of the rotten.....so how does that make sense? Was the rotten a already well known disease, that for 15 some years after the knowledge of its existence still had nothing in place to protect citizens during an outbreak..... If so, how could our MC be 15 to like early 17 years old and have absolutely no knowledge and heard nothing about a well-established disease of that severity?
And the whole dynamic between our two MCS is zombie boy over here toying with him,(for reasons still unclear) and our MC has guilt issues and is quick to violence and throwing punches because when the outbreak "first happened" he had froze and in a way blames himself for freezing and not getting to the person on the other side of the building, the zombie boy in a way blames himself for that kids "death".... I am so f****** confused, is the author still deciding, and changing the layout of the story, like was it not established before they started buying it and they're just improvising as they go? Wtf? I'm trying to find multiple different ways that this new context from this chapter could work and in no way would it fit in any scenario? Because again if the rotten had been around for 15 plus years and it was a well-known bio disease, how could our MC and the people around him have no knowledge, or preparation for it?
I was thinking like that too, like where is the sense? But, if u go to chap 21, there has the backstory of mc's friend, he says that the rotten are gonna invade the city and, after that, there has someone who said something abt the rotten alert siren, that means that its something they know at least. Mc's friend in first chapter said "when that thing came" no "appeared" abt mc's dream(cuz mc dreamed abt that time when he saw the rotten at his school), so i would say it was something they knew, but wasn't that serious back then
Actually, in the first chapter they were not talking abt the dream when he said it, discard that part
