I get why y’all are mad and don’t like the ML but I feel like you guys are just shifting all the blame and her misery onto him, as if he was the only/biggest reason she suffered.

Looks like the big mastermind to her misfortune is her very own father. He really does not wish for her to be happy at all in her life, and is a big reason the ML had probably treated her the way he did. Don’t push all the blame onto the love interest just cause you hate him or focused on the romance shiz, look at the bigger picture, be a mature person and realize that there are others who are worse and the big center of the FL’s suffering.

People do tend to love having grudges against the ML if he ever wronged the FL in the past life, but that’s the point of getting a second chance, a new timeline. The FL gets the chance to fix things and so should the ML (depends on what exactly he did tho). I don’t get why people read second life type of stories if they know they’re just gonna keep a grudge against the ML like this ain’t a whole new life. People get mad at the ML for stuff he hadn’t exactly done yet in the new timeline or stuff he doesn’t even know he’s done. Guess it’s called easily siding with the main character no matter who it is, they will usually always give the MC a second chance whether or not they made mistakes or a bad person. But if it’s a love interest, they don’t give equal rights lmao.

Why not read stories that don’t involve the FL getting to go back in the past, and just be in one timeline- that way if the love interest messes up, you don’t sound petty and have good reason to be mad at him cause he actually did something in the present. I’ve seen plenty of other second chance stories where the ML is absolute scum (ex: taking baby from FL and lying to her that the baby died just to take the baby for himself and his new wife which he abandoned the FL for, then using one of the baby’s bones to give to his sickly new wife)

So I went to read the novel because I was enthusiastic about what the manga has shown, but I'm about to drop this too just so I won't have to physically see the bs that the novel gives. I'm not raising my blood pressure with this shit more than I already have.

• This goblet is the Winterwald's secret family treasure
• Winterwald was tasked to keep the royal family from accessing the cup.

• So going back to Luca, the goblet can grant a person's wish — that's how Luca went back in time; however, Luca's wish was not about him going back in time to take revenge or whatever, his wish was for everyone to be happy.
• Now, why did the goblet grants Luca's wish? Well simply because Luca has the blood of royalty. His mom has the blood of royalty. And YES, Judith also has the blood of royalty. His father is also from a royal bloodline.
• The former king's sister, Greta, ran away from the palace (home) along with a handsome commoner she fell in love with. And Greta was the mother of Larisa and Judith's mother. So, in short, Larisa and Judith are the granddaughters of a princess, the sister of the former king.
• About Judith, Judith is the REAL JUDITH. There was never a novel, to begin with. She never read a novel about Luca's life; she simply remembered Luca's memories from his past life. In short, all the abuse she gave Luca was her doings. Judith died in modern time (in Korea) then she reborn as Judith (born as Judith, like from baby, u know what I mean?). So yeah, when Judith died at the first timeline, she also went back in time as Judith, but she forgot about being the real Judith.
• Judith apologized to Luca and Luca accepted it. Luca also admitted why Judith acted like that in the past. Judith was consumed in resentment because her beloved sister died after having Luca and worst of all, Luca doesn't resemble her sister at all. Luca said that Judith stopped hating him and that she started hating the Winterwald family (the reason why she went with Franz plan). Luca also said that Judith gave him the portrait of his mother after he went to the Winterwald. Also, Luca knew that in the first timeline, Franz changed his mind in killing him because Judith argued with Franz about it.
• Luca and Judith told everything to Rudy.
• The duke also knew about the goblet and the wish. He patted Luca and said about being proud or something to how Luca wished everyone's happiness.
• Back to Luca again (lol), he is not the true heir of the Winterwald household. Why? Because Jonas is not the duke's son. Venessa, one of the former king's daughters, married the duke to get away from her father. She slept around and got pregnant, she doesn't know who the father was. She died as soon as she gave birth to Jonas, Luca's father.
• About Jonas, Luca's father, the one who killed him was the duke. Because Jonas wants to be king. He was arrogant and a greedy person. The last thing that upsets the duke was that Jonas looked down on Sophie, the friend of Venessa; the duke's mother's maid; and Rudy's mother. Jonas planned to kill Sophie after he will become the King.
• So yeah about the thing about the Duke, Vennesa, and Sophie. I know it's weird since Venessa and Sophie are friends. But... Venessa, for me, is a good person, and Sophie sad so too. The Duke and Venessa made a deal with each other. So they had a marriage contract or something like that. Venessa knows how the Duke feels about Sophie and vice versa. As Sophie said, they knew each other's secrets and that Venessa gave her every good thing in her life.
• The reason why Sophie paid more attention to Jonas was because he's the son of Vennesa. It is said that she doesn't love Jonas, more like a substitute for Venessa. She's very loyal to Venessa hence why she wants Jonas to become the successor of the Duke. She really loves Venessa, she still smile everytime she talks and thinks about Venessa.
• In the first timeline, Sophie died because of the anxiety when she heard about the death of Rudy. The reason why the Duke took care of Jonas, more than his own son, was because he felt guilty for Venessa ( after her death) and he felt like he didn't do anything on his side of his bargain. To begin with, the Duke doesn't care who will be the next to succeed him. Jonas was just greedy and has a nasty attitude, especially to Sophie (duke's love one). Judith is feeling unsure about what the duke and Sophie felt with Rudy, and hoped that they will reveal their genuine feelings to Rudy.
• Judith and Rudy will get married and they will have a daughter.
• To begin with, the former king really dislikes Rudy for Judith. The former king loves Judith. Favoritism since Judith looks like his sister and she has the same purple eyes as his sister and his daughter, Vennesa. That's also one of the reason why Sophie like Judith. Because Venessa told her to be kind to people who have purple eyes since maybe they are having a difficult time of their life.
• The former king always separate Judith and Rudy. He doesn't let Judith get outside of the palace. That's why she went out (with permission and excuse by accompanying Luca) to talk to Rudy. But the next one will be Rudy coming to the palace in commoner's disguise and some ball in announcing the existence of Judith.
• Luca (was) also didn't approved of Rudy's marriage proposal since in the first timeline, Rudy never felt love and shows love with anyone.
• Rudy became the heir and soon will become a duke.

Sorry to disappoint? or perhaps make y'all happy? Y'all opinions about the sister is incorrect. According to spoilers of course. She is genuinely a "good" girl(Sorry I don't trust anyone that acts all innocent and "cute". I find rude people much more being comfortable to be around with). Either way she's a "genuinely nice" kid.

Wait so I'm a bit confused. Maybe it was better explained in the novel but how exactly is she "cursed"? Her mother jumped out of the carriage to protect her brother so wouldn't it make more sense for the father to assume that the brother was "cursed"? MC's fiancée is another pitiful character and there's a reason a lot of Korean fans wanted him as an ML. He really loves and adores MC and since childhood he wanted to be her knight and marry her. In the first timeline, Angela used the love potion on him and no one is immune to the love potion, only the one who is blessed by the dragon god. So everything that happened in the first timeline was because of the love potion, but that doesn't change for MC because even if Carsel is different in the second timeline, she has already experienced everything in the first timeline and is hurt and traumatized.

In the second timeline, Angela didn't use the love potion on Carsel because MC had told her about the second prince, who was the crown prince at that moment, so Angela thought, why should she choose MC's fiancée when there is a better choice. In fact, Carsel and Dan and the second prince are the only three men in the story who feel nothing for Angela or her beauty. Carsel and Dan didn't care for her because they loved MC, and the second prince just because he likes women with voluminous bodies and Angela didn't had a voluminous body. Later on, Angela will use a love potion on the second prince, just like in the first timeline, because it's the only way for her to get him, but that's another story.

The reason a lot of people like Carsel is because he's an innocent character who really loves MC and would do anything to make her happy. Once he was going to a ball with her and asked MC what her favorite color was, and I think MC said blue, but I can't remember it well, but Carsel ended up wearing all of the clothes in that color that day just to see her happy. Since childhood, he also learned to fight the sword in an elegant way for MC, although fighting like that was not really effective.

He realizes that MC is distancing herself from him but he is still trying and MC also realized that Carsel was under the influence of the love potion in the first timeline, so the second timeline Carsel is really innocent, but she is still traumatized and hates Angela for doing this in the first timeline because now there is a rift in her relationship with Carsel and not only is she hurt by it, Carsel is too.

After some events, her and Carsel's engagement is broken up due to political problems and Carsel is devastated and visited MC at night to speak to her, but MC tells him that there is nothing they can do about it and that they cannot return. Carsel understands this and gives her a knight oath and told her that he will always be her knight and protect her.

When MC is attacked by assassins ordered by the third queen, MC was rescued by an unknown man who fought the assassins with her guards and then simply disappeared. MC realized that the unknown man was Carsel, who apparently was always around, and protected her from the dark. On another occasion, MC was in an underground prison and Carsel came to rescue her in his uniform, but after MC saw Carsel like that, she backed away and yelled at him not to touch her because she remembered the first life and confused Carsel with the Carsel from the first life. Carsel was hurt and confused, but he thought that maybe she didn't want him touching her because she was shocked.

When MC married Dan, Carsel was hurt and realized that he has no chance anymore, but still wished MC the best and to be happy. In the end, Carsel wants to look ahead and after passing the knight test, he decided to join an order of knights that he liked and not be MC's guard. MC is happy that Carsel wants to look ahead and start a new life for himself.

He is the most pitiful character in the whole story. He is the son of the king and the second queen. Before the king married the second queen, he was married to the first queen, which he loved dearly, but after the first queen gave birth to a daughter, the princess, she died in childbirth. That's what the king and everyone else thought, but in true, it was the later third queen and main villain in the story who was behind the death of the first queen. After the death of the first queen, the king was devastated, but one day married Dan's mother, who he didn't love, but who gave him political power. She was a good queen and wife and she gave him a son, but he felt no love for her.

But one day he gets to know the third queen and fell deeply in love with her, but because he is already married, he can't marry her. So that they could marry, the third queen poisoned the second queen and kills her, the king knew about this, but still let it go, because he wanted to marry her. What he also knew was, that the third queen also slowly poisoned his son Dan, but he still let her do it, because he loved her more than anything else. But the worst thing is, that the person who poisoned Dan and his mother was his nanny, which Dan loved like a mother and who also loved him dearly, but was being threatened by the third queen. His nanny always regretted it deeply and Dan knew this, so it was hard for him, because he wants to hate her for that, but at the same time he know how much she didn't want to do it and that she regrets it. The only other person who was loyal to Dan and like family was the son of his nanny, who was his best friend and like a brother to him. The nanny's son didn't knew that his mother poisoned Dan.

One day he met MC by a lake and fell in love with her at first sight. They came to know each other better and slowly deepened their relationship. In this timeline Dan didn't die because at the lake they also got to know a rabbit, which was in fact a holy creature and after some events that happened, the rabbit cured Dan's body as thanks and Dan was healthy again. When he got healthy again, he finally could play the role as first prince and with MC's help, he could get the crown prince title back. But before all that happened, he got the news that his nanny did suicide, because she couldn't live with the guilt anymore. She wrote a last letter to Dan in which she asked for forgiveness and asked him to not tell her son about what she did to Dan and his mother, because she didn't want her son to hate her.

Many things happened and with MC's help, he finally could get the chance to take revenge on the third queen. For that they needed to remove the third queen and reveal all her wrongdoings. After many things they finally did that and in the end, everyone got to know that the third queen wasn't the daughter of a nobleman, but in fact the daughter of the high priest. Both of them were fanatics, who wanted to destroy the country and make the country part of the holy land. At first the king didn't want to believe this after he got to know this, but after some more prove, the king finally agreed to investigate the third queen and everything came to light.

Before the third queen was executed, she wanted to start a last attack with Angelas help. At that time Angela was also being held as a suspect and was guarded by Dan's best friend. She tried to play like she is innocent and fool Dan's friend and she could easily fool him, because he fell for her beauty and Angela asked him for the diary of his mother. He gave her the diary, believing she is innoncent and because he fell in love with her, but what he didn't knew was, that Angela used the diary to copy his mothers handwriting to write a fake last letter of his mother. She wrote that his mother killed herself because of Dan and that Dan threatened her or something. She told him, that she found this letter in the diary of his mother and after he read it, he wanted to take revenge on Dan. Dan and MC predicted all of this and were waiting for the attack and Dan was disappointed in his best friend for falling for such a trick, even thought they both know each other since childhood. When his best friend stabbed Dan and Dan almost died, they had luck and the rabbit could save Dan again. MC was really mad and hated Dan's best friend for this betrayal, because he should have known that Dan could never be like Angela wrote in the fake letter, but because of Angelas beauty, he got fooled. In the end his best friend also needed to pay for the betrayal and Dan wanted to give him a poison that brings the least painful death. But MC didn't want him to just get away with it like that and asked Dan to let her give him the poison. He knew what MC was planning, but he still let her do it. When MC visited his best friend in prison, she showed him the real last letter of his mother and after he read this, he finally realized what he has done and was devastated, because he betrayed his best friend, because he was fooled by a girl. MC gave him two poisons, one was the one Dan wanted to give him, with the least painful death and another one was a poison with the most painful death. She told him, if he really regrets, then he should know which poison he needs to take and he thanked her for that and took the poison with the most painful death.

The queen, the second prince and Angela were executed afterwards. The king was devastated and hid in his room for many days until one day the news came that the king had committed suicide after speaking to the queen for the last time before her execution. He also wrote a final letter to Dan asking for forgiveness and telling him everything and that he knew the third queen poisoned his mother and even Dan, but allowed it to happen anyway because he loved her and didn't know she just fooled him. He told him he couldn't live with it anymore, so he decided to commit suicide. MC was really mad at the king and cried for Dan and thought the king was the worst father because at least he should never have told his son that he allowed someone to poison Dan so that Dan wouldn't feel more abandoned and betrayed.

After all this, Dan became king and married MC, who is the only one he has left as family. But at the end, MC will get pregnant, so he also gets his happy end with a new family that truly loves him. :blobsmilehappy:

You see, he's the most pitiful character in the story because in the end he was betrayed by his nanny who was like a mother to him, his best friend who was like a brother and his father whom he loved and looked up to as a child. And worse, he wants to hate them, but at the same time he knows that they regretted it so much that they chose suicide and even his best friend took the poison with the most painful death because he regretted it so much. So it is really complicated for him and he is more hurt than mad because of all these betrayals.
