Lol guys the author posts this on webtoon so I think they cannot show a lot of smut there bcs webtoon is strict about it..
I'm calling it now. I think they had some sort of accident before college.
Mincheol is a sporty person and we see in the latest chapter that he has an injury cause he had to stop running (chapter 28). It has been bugging me (from chap 18) when it was revealed that Mincheol wanted to go to Phys ed and did a lot of sports in highschool, but is now in the business major. I thought it had something to do with Haneul and was scared tbh that the only reason he didn't go to that major was so he could be closer to her, but now I see that is not the case and is actually because he couldn't go cause of the injury.
When we pair this with the fact that she is always seen wearing her wristband, I think she may be covering a scar from that accident and that Mincheol possibly gave her that wristband.
She doesn't strike me as a person that is self harming, and I don't see the characters around her and her close friends being wary of her mood, that type of tendencies or generally behaving in any way that would indicate that.
ALSO I analyzed all the scenes from the flashbacks and she is not seen wearing the wristband in either middle or highschool. Also maybe something will be revealed at the reunion, cause Mincheols injury storyline has been building up to this point.
I would like to hear what the rest of you think? (=・ω・=)
I saw a lot of people are confused about this arc, so here is a summary of everything that happened with cultivation stuff explained. Also u can find the same message because I answered a comment, but maybe more people will see it this way. Hope it helps :)
Okay so long story short, Wang Yi is now a disciple of Qin Xian.
-Both of them had sealed memories. They did this because the master system that controls all the transmigrators and their stories noticed that all the worlds with WY and QX had some sort of a bug/malfunction. By erasing their memories, they evaded the master system and the protag/uke of this arc was blamed as the bug. (because of the white cat, but we still don't know who that is or what its role is - probs to rebel against the master system)
-Wang Yi is half human-half demon (snake to be specific) cultivator because of his parents (they are not known in this arc) and he is a genius cultivator (bcs he has 1/heavenly core and his type is mutant ice//the more cores u have the weaker u are, and there are 5 types and obv mutant is a rare one).
-Qin Xian is one of the cultivators with the highest cultivation stage and needs only 1 (since chap 127) more stage to become immortal (which is the goal with any cultivation type story - immortality and power). He has taken WY to be his disciple since WY was a child.
-Because of the og protag/uke of the story, the timeline has been fucked and QX found out about the demon blood/linage of WY sooner than planned. Now, most sects don't usually allow demons/half demons to be a part of their sect, because they fight against demons and view halflings as more demon than human and more unpredictable/dangerous. QX of this world is the same, but he really loves his disciple WY. I think at first he wanted to keep him in the sect by his side and just hide the fact WY is half demon, but after reading WYs mind he understood that WY knows something about their world and the fate of it and that if he keeps him by his side, WY will die by his hand. So he decides for WYs safety to expel him from the sect and put a protective shield on him, cause he knows WY is strong and can survive on his own. From that moment, he started researching ways to separate the demon blood from halflings in hopes of helping WY.
-After WY was expelled from the sect, he decided to become stronger (and he did, because before chap 127 he was just 1 level below his master, but now he is 2 levels below lol). Now because of that mark on his forehead, he cannot enter the sect, even tho he STILL IS the disciple of QX. So he decides to wear a wig (that is not a simple wig as we remember from the 1st arc, he actually conceals his existence) and enter the sect as a totally new disciple. Because that wig is not from this arc, his cultivation specs are now shit, but I guess that is what he needs cause he just wants to be able to serve QX, so he can give him the un-dumbing antidote.
-Also, when cultivator need to ascend, aka progress to the next cultivation stage, they need to survive tribulation, which is essentially being struck by lightning a lot of times (different number for different stages). That is what we saw in the last few chapters and what WY has helped him with by creating ice crystals that absorbed some of the thunder power. Now I'm not sure, but I think cultivators can control when they are gonna break thru to the next stage and can summon the tribulation themselfs. However, QX saw wig WY and I think that caused some imbalance in his Qi (power of cultivators basically) and caused the tribulation 10 years earlier than in the story. I mean, he did say he felt sudden rise in his power. I think that is because some sort of emotion or slight memory from 1st arc returned.
-Now that he found out that the new protag is actually Bai Mo, he will complete his villain missions as himself, and his self-given side quests as the wig (i fr don't know the name of the girl with the same hair, its easier to just call her wig lol)
-We still don't know what SO and QX have cooked and what are they planning, but probably to first try to return WYs FULL memories, from when he was QXs system and so he can remember their promise.
Lol sorry for the long post, I hope I explained it well and ask if there are any questions. (●'◡'●)ノ
I can't believe that this manhwa made us emotionally invested in junseo just for him not to be endgame. Or the childhood friend at the very least. I'm only annoyed because why give a second male lead a better and more tragic backstory (and make us, the readers, like him or even relate to him even more) + flush out his personality so well JUST to make him a SECOND male lead. We barely know anything about the actual ML. So lets see:
-We know nothing about his past or backstory (unlike the other love interests, heck, even the orange head friend has more of a backstory from middle school)
-How did our MC influence the change in the MLs feelings (we know about the red head and especially junseo, but how after the rejection has he been influenced /this wasn't shown nor told/)
-In the case of ML, the manhwa has a very bad show not tell principle (because if I wasn't told that the ML actually liked our MC even after he rejected him, my view on things would be that he just missed the attention and was afraid the MC won't love him anymore, so he activated himself when he saw how many rivals he actually had and became jealous /almost like a child after you take away the toy he never even noticed or played with/. Welp, that or the poor writing that lead to feelings being magically there)
-Let me not even comment the leading on before the confession of the MC, if I was him, I would also confess in that moment because the ML made the mood like that and basically baited him just to reject him ??? We never even found out why he did that or if it was even conscious (its bad even if it wasn't tho...)
-The most we know of the ML is that he has a fucking dog and that he loves him very much and even if yes, that is relatable, it's not enough to compete with the other love interests. And that he is a martial artist who helps the week, again, cute but not enough to actually feel like its close and personal.
-Also its okay that the MC didn't like the other love interests, I guess its life and you cannot like everyone who is kind/interesting to you, but I would maybe be even happier if he matured/accepted himself without thinking he is weird (AGAIN THAT IS THANKS TO JUNSEO WHO DID MORE FOR HIM THAN ANYONE ELSE AGHH) and ended up alone. Because to me he ended up being dumb for going back to the person who played with him and even rejected him at first /especially when you think about it and realize that it was a crush that wasn't based on personality (cause he didn't know him) or even a specific situation that made him like the ML, so its probably what? Looks?? He even ruined the friendship with junseo for that type of crush.
Even tho I know its not that deep, and they looked cute in the end, I simply can't help myself but pity junseo who deserves a world and was the best option + he did not deserve the feeling of heartbreak on top of everything else he has going on. And the ML didn't really put in that much work or emotion until the very end (thank the red head for making it a little difficult for the ML tbh).
