It's probably because of the tight deadlines for webtoon artists :'( They have to release a new chapter every week, which is an insane pace for any artist.

I think Jiwoon is trying to protect Suha from being hurt anymore by the red head. I think he had enough of being weak against the old lady and her son. Now is the time to take his life back and save Suha at the same time. this could be wishful thinking by i hope Im half right.
