Honestly, It was a great story till, the ending. To a degree I feel bad for Sungho, because he hasan array of Mental illness. But I don't see what the other ML did, as much of justification for what he was put through( Rape, imprison, assault, torture, abuse of every kind). Mostly Sungho broke, when the parents died, and went through something called psychosis. They lose all sense of reality. Not to mention his obsessive personality, borderline personality disorder, combined with chronic depression and anxiety. The other ML also probably had (love avoidant disorder) and now going through Stockholm Syndrome. Where they become dependent, or as some describe "fall in love with their captor and abuser to cope with the reality of what they are going through and has been done to them" He probably also has PTSD. That's why he hears the beeping sound, and night terrors. The reason the author ended with them trying to start the relation ship, is because it's not going to last. Don't get this wrong THIS IS NOT A HAPPY ENDING. This actually the cruelest ending, the author could write. One of them is going to break eventually, or Sungho is going to get abusive again. He does not have the mental and emotional capacity to be a in a romantic relationship. Especially after what he did to Donhyun. After coming out of psychosis, people start to realize what they did, and it becomes a personal hell filled with guilt. Honestly the more merciful ending , would have been if one of them died, or both. Or if they decided to stay apart and get treatment for their mental illness. Or if the writer allowed Sungho to go to jail and take responsability. This ending breaks my heart. But I guess this cruel ending goes along with this, twisted story.
