You people seem to be forgetting the main reason why she thinks she came back. It was to actually serve Kael and get the justice he deserved. She gave Diana so many chances to actually rectify herself and apologize to Kael because she thought it was what she was DESTINED to do. Now, Diana is playing with Kael’s feelings again ON TOP OF her doing everything she can to bring him justice (aka the reason why she thinks she came back so to hear that he “accepted” Diana’s half ass apology, that’s why she’s stressing because she can’t do what she thinks she was bought back to life for). She is trying to make things fair for her love who DIED by these people who didn’t show remorse in the past. Like.. yes Kael has moved on but look at the big picture from her stand point. I would be mad too because out of everything I have done for you, you’re going to accept an apology that wasn’t an apology???
To me it doesn't feel like he accepted her apology, more like he just doesn't want to have anything to do with the matter anymore. I think now that he has Hestia he just wants to put the past behind him, but that doesn't mean he's forgiven her. For example, I know that personally. I used to be bullied and my bully never apologized. I don't hold a grudge against her though because I've come to terms with the past and it's no longer relevant. But that doesn't mean I've forgiven her, I just don't care, just like she does. She even asked me for advice about a job once, and even though she never apologized, she asked me years later and acted like it hadn't happened. But I think even if she had apologized and meant it, that wouldn't have changed my past, present or future, so it wouldn't have mattered to me either way, and I think Kael sees it the same way with Diana.

But it's not very strong, and in earlier chapters, we can see it doesn't really work on Eclis because he has a very strong will, which undid the brainwashing. And he voluntarily worked with Yvonne despite that, all because he wanted Penelope for himself. So its only fair she abandoned him after he betrayed her like that... He literally brought the one thing she didn't want to deal with: Yvonne.
Everything was in a delicate balance even when Eclis was her Guardian night, the time he betrayed her tipped this balance and as you can see shit went down, trust that was painstakingly built grinded to dust so yeahhh
Yes that is why she can't keep him, she can't release him from the brainwashing by herself just like that, if she could she would have definitely done it.

Penelope has one goal. To survive the game and get out of there. But for that she needs an ending - which she can only get when it's a happy ending since the bad endings only kill her.
Eclis was her most trusted hope as he was the nicest to her in easy mode (by that I mean not killing her 24/7). She invested everything into him and ignored everything else. But then Eclis didn't just betray her by bringing Yvonne but also tried to destroy her goals of SURVIVAL. He will never be a hope to her because he wants to do everything in his power to make her his own. But he doesn't love her, he is obsessed with her. Which is why the % will always only go to 99.
But again Penelope NEEDS a happy ending - 100% on any male lead.
And to the brainwashing. Both the brothers were brainwashed too. Derrick and Reynold both still had their own emotions. But they were tricked to believe what Yvonne said.
Meaning Derrick became even more of an asshole to Penelope and didn't believe whatever she did/said, instead believing she was doing it for attention. Reynold on the other hand knew what he did was wrong and still tried to be in good terms with Penelope. He did not harbour any hate towards her but know wants her to be his Sibling. He wants her to stay or at least be happy with her life.
This shows that the brainwashing doesn't give them new emotions but rather makes them more prone to believe Yvonne, even if it's just for a short time.
To conclude, Eclis is brainwashed but he had these thoughts by himself. He had these emotions by himself. He decided to bring Yvonne to the house and try to get Penelope to only rely on him by his decision. The brainwashing does NOT give them no fault in what they have done and Eclis has clearly shown that he does not want Penelope to be happy but only wants her by his side. As such not loving her in a lovers way but thinking of her like an object needed to posses.
