I know that in some countries they are less likely to be accepting of same sex relationships but it’s still sad to see especially when parents force their children to start thinking about marriage just because they think it’s the only way one can be happy. Even if jeongyun wasn’t gay why would he need to have grandchildren, what if he doesn’t want any? I know the mom isn’t a bad parent but still pushing her ideals onto her kids is icky. From what I heard around chapter 70 of the novel it’s revealed that Dohyun was hired to sort of keep track of Wooyeon by his mother which made a lot of ppl call Dohyun a red flag but from what I read Dohyun genuinely cared for Wooyeon back then even if he didn’t approach him honestly at first.
It's not just about that, he should have come clean sooner about it, or not just approach him again after learning who he was since he thought Wooyeon didn't remember him. Just look at it from Wooyeon's pov, he tiptoed around him, felt like a fool because he thought he was the only one remembering, then feeling like he had to keep those emotions hidden because he was scared of Dohyun's reaction. To him it just looks like Dohyun made a fool out of him, the first time because he was benefitting from it and the second time because he felt guilty.
Wooyeon was the first one to pretend not to know him. It wasn’t one sided. Dohyun would have come clean had Wooyeon been direct about it. Dohyun isn’t perfect but he definitely isn’t a red flag. That was the point I wanted to make. Throughout the story he helped Wooyeon a lot and it wasn’t out of guilt but because he liked him and cared for him.

Because he was embarrassed, Dohyun had no reason to keep it quiet, and as I was saying, it doesn't matter what his real intentions were, he caused Wooyeon to misunderstand by not coming clean. I'm not saying he's a red flag but he was definitely in the wrong and it isnt surprising that some people hate him.
