Well, she is the mistress, but I think the one to be wrecked by that relationship would be her. The story is interesting (full of cliches but not really predictable) and I read till chapter 41 and am still not sure who to root for and who to despise. Maybe this makes you curious? ;-)

Now that I've finished reading all the chapters and reading comments, I would agree with you. This is so messed up and complicated esp. after knowing Shinonome's POV and you don't know who to actually root for. I think at the end of the day, all they need is time to love themselves first.. they are so broken that they're trying to break everything may it be intentionally or not.
