In these novels that the FL has brothers, one thing that always bothers me is how cold the father usually is to them, while being all sunshine and rainbows to the FL.
Usually, the brothers quickly fall for FL's quirkiness and ignore father's favoritism because that's how it is and that's how they were raised. The protagonist's halo is so strong that there's not even an ounce of resentment. No matter how mature a child is, having the new kid hog all of your father's (the only living parent, at that) love and attention (that he barely spared you) is justified grounds for resentment.
