if you like reading soft stories about healthy relationships between boys (and girls, really), you guys should read heartstopper on tapas! it tells a nice story about being a teenager and realizing that /maybe/ you like the same gender and i know a handful of us here knows what that feels like especially if you've experienced that at young age. it ......   reply

bucky's question ( All 5 )

I like Netflix. A lot. And their originals, but lately they're been making me extremely uncomfortable with all the straight things they put into their 2018 and up shows. This usually wouldn't be a problem IF I didn't only watch shows that young children would watch. Thinking about it that way makes it much more uncomfortable for me. As of recently, i was generally fine with it as i was there for the story. However, with the 5 season of one of my favorite shows, Prince (idk what show they were talking about let me know it sounds bomb) and the princesses of power, it gave me the feeling that Netflix no longer has the intention of pushing out gay relationships anymore. Firstly, there are officially 3 heterosexual relationships in the show. There are 2 gay relationships, however there wasn't a lot of clarity whether the characters were actually in a relationship. They did say 'I love you', but that word was overly used over the course of the season, mainly between friends. Unlike the straight relationships, there wasn't any kissing or loving looks. 2 of my favorite characters were one of the gay relationships who weren't given any of the kisses and such the straight relationships did. Which is kinda disappointing to me as a lesbian, because i was hoping for the kiss between them the most. Along with the 2nd straight couple, because there wasn't even any confirmation the female liked the other male character back. And honestly i still haven't found out whether they're in a relationship now. I've told a couple of people about this, but they're straight and they say Netflix is doing it to represent the heterosexual community. But with the release of that season, i feel like Netflix needs to take a chill-pill back with all the heterosexual representation. Im sure im not the only person that feels uncomfortable with all the straight things major companies are constantly pushing out onto the minds of children. However, i have no one to talk to since it seems like nowadays every person is simply okay with this. So i want to talk to people who actually understand me. And if you don't, thats okay.

i need every straight person on this goddamn site to shut the fuck up for once, at least during pride month. y'all love to parade ur an ally just bc u read too many gay mangas but ass soon as gay rep is present in a children show it's suddenly too much? fuck you i don't care if it makes you uncomfortable. do you know how many straight couples i've seen since i was a kid? can y'all actually think about why it is important for us to have lgbt rep in children shows? are you dumb? be honest. i'm so fed up with y'all whining about seeing gay people when we didn't whine while y'all parade ur sexuality. why can't we have anything without you guys saying that it's too much

have yall watched those little thai gay shows?

with all these comment threads around talking about fujos and how they often fetishize gay men and their relationships, these straight women keep accusing gay people of being heterophobic. i personally think it's bullshit but what about you?

btw if ur straight dont bother answering

reading bl is so exhausting for a number of reasons (at least for me) and yes it is not a representation of the community itself so it's honestly fucking disgusting when some would equate it to reality. it's also horrifying that individuals who are self-proclaimed homophobic would admit with their whole chest that they fetishize gay men and it makes me sick. plus the underlying misogynistic theme of a lot of bl titles
