Isn’t this terry like 107th terry. Somewhere in the hundreds. Did he forget his memories Bc he went back to the 17 or 15 th I forgot which the fl reside in.
No she isn’t aware. I just know terry went through a lot to get back to see her. Since she’s only in the 17th timeline. I believe he kills his version not too sure but that’s honestly all I could remember . Another spoiler***********the reed character the black long hair is corrupted terry who’s been through many timelines I believe.
After round 100 Terry got corrupted and became Reed, however he was defeated and got thrown into an abandoned dungeon. He was there for 100-106 or 116 rounds If I remember correctly, like 1000 years. Remember when she went to get the disk? The thing trapped there was Terry she literally set him free. The plot is that the world is kinda broken and something happens and he gets sent to round 17 instead of round 107/117. Round 17 is the ONLY one where Ailet existed.
Yeah, Terry had snapped around 100 and went to the void, where he literally went dark. He spent a ton of rounds trying to kill the world, locked in that prison dungeon for like 16 lifespans, offing his own self in tons of ways trying to break the loop, etc. They never give an exact number, but it's hinted his years of existence are a minimum of 5 digits and growing... and granny sure never told our gal what her number is, either, just that it was far too much to be explained by one lifetime.
Anyway, if it took at least 100 before terry became reed, then imagine how long it took for Reed to become a whole new level of snapped and showed up in 17th round Terry's body?
No wonder he was in such shock and couldn't think or speak. I cried when I found out how Reed came to be, then cried again when learning who 17th Terry (our Terry). Just wow.
I'd have to read the latest again to remember if our gal truly knows... but in that forest with her kill count only being one (the Terry imprisoned to live whole lifetimes, die, then repeat, before she took the save disk) and yet they're swarmed by those things? Seeing supposedly sweet, innocent little 17th round Terry having a near-infinite murder count? Oof. Infinite regressions in an abandoned, broken world... sacrificing yourself on a loop and getting nothing but betrayal and literal torture... OOF. Sorry, just relieved other people have read it and get it and can finally share the feeling. Have a good one~ <3
Sorry, yeah, when I say round I mean a cycle of regression and death. Like 17th round/cycle/life/etc. I'm not entirely sure if he possesses OR replaces, but the mind is totally the most recent/current/newest 'version' of everything he's been through... and he is definitely physically stuck at the general strength of 17th Terry. His physical self is only *at best* the level 17th Terry should've been. It suggests that Terry is at essentially 'factory settings', or a 'reset' as this past chapter mentioned. He does not outwardly show aura or divine power, as if his body is practically a newborn. It's like a bizarre reboot of the self, but with all memories. I personally have a 'fan theory' suspicion that it was some kind of gift or mercy to allow him a final chance to break the loop with the MC introduced to the world, a shot to fix everything.
In the novel, Reed sees 17th Terry and asks Elle (she has no idea who Reed is yet) "why are you with this insect?" having NO IDEA it's actually his psychological self from the far future. To be fair... this is the first time the 17th Terry survived the first few minutes of that cycle/life. It could be that the oldest version of Terry has been murdered almost immediately by Reed, on a loop, a true unstoppable loop, until our FL was transmigrated and saved him right before death (our timeline).
We have no idea how many loops of hundreds of lives have passed before our FL came in as the variable that knocks things off track. Obviously, hopefully this is the first time the Terry *we know* has been in that body. It hasn't been clarified, because, well, I'm not sure time even holds much meaning for him anymore... I mean, the guy has lived for thousands of years before seeing Elle again and doesn't recognize her, she was a singular weird blink in his looping hell, but it's doubtful he can remember all those years much. I can't remember what I had for breakfast.
.....I'm weird about plot holes in stories that use time travel mechanics, so I've thought too much about details. So far, the novel has been one of the smoothest uses of converging timelines. Not all the gaps are filled in yet, but nothing contradicts itself yet, so I've been impressed.
Tl;dr it's the newest brain but probably 17th body, no idea if that brain has always looped to the 17th life waiting for a variable to jump in. It's all wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff. Circles in circles with a splash of existential horror. Like Dr. Who meets Cthulu. That's what I imagine has been playing ping-pong with Terry's soul.
Lol, I mean like in this last chapter when he literally has to take a crash course in relearning language and such and asks who she is. He might be having trouble remembering her in the fog of coming back, might think it's her but wants to make sure, or might be afraid that she's an illusion/fantasy.
He could never find her after his childhood, before the cycles started. His brain is probably a bit fried trying to absorb that he's been thrown towards the very beginning of his regression cycles somehow...
and yet his vanished childhood savior variable is standing there ogling his beauty and going "...porridge?"
Reading it again after knowing is just a wild experience.
Nooo boo! He literally was replaced. Like the world broke and sent 117 to 17. I think is related to her IDK. At round 17 he was an aura expert, but 100+ was an aura master… remember where he gets his powers from? Doing good deeds!! When he was banished as Reed his powers were banned too. Just a little after she rescues him we have a part in the novel where he said “it’s not enough” or something like that and there are lines around the “runes” on his arms (I guess you can call them that), which are suppressing his powers my dude literally is using like 10% of his actual power also the mind is broken because of the eternal life fountain they found with the mermaids. He was kept “alive” with the resetting point (aka the disk) and the fountain of life.
I might've been vague, sorry, I thought he could've been fully "replaced" (not just the mind) but wasn't positive. I did know he was being reset to the point of strength of 17th Terry, but couldn't remember necessarily how. Like I knew his power was forcibly taken somehow as he was sent back, but forgot the power is *technically* there and is being restrained/locked away by the runes. Forgetting where that power came from is impossible, but without fully knowing how he got back to that timeline (side note: other than my assumption that the new gods picked that as a convenient timeline to give our new variable, Elle, and the abandoned world forcibly became under the control of the new gods and their chosen starting point), I can't say I know the exact circumstances of what's hindering that power.
The first time, I thought the trauma of the sculpture dungeon and suddenly seeing Elle again (and maybe a consequence of avoiding that destined death of his 17th) was the cause for his temporary amnesia and inability to access his divine power. After realizing who he really was, I realized the shock of being back to that time and seeing her would've been far greater. I also realized the forced absence of power was due to having been Reed, regardless of what the 17th Terry 'should've' been like (the 'normal' Terry after his 16th death).
I totally get that the fountain would've contributed to scrambling his brain, but I feel that's *in addition* to the continuous trauma of the ongoing years (and momentary shock of waking up to her casually standing there. I mean, my brain would've spontaneously combust and I'd be waking up in the 18th life).
Just that toy dungeon as kids would give most normal people PTSD. Being the original novel's hero protagonist obviously gives him supernatural mental fortitude and endurance... but he's already said that he's done things like sobbed to the point of literal blood coming out of his eyes (one of the times he dealt with the book). People IRL can sob to the point of bursting blood vessels in the sclera and such, but to have blood streaming like tears is definitely a level of despair that would drive anyone to insanity (if they weren't already). That's just one example of his mindset. That, along with "welp, I'm gonna personally destroy the world as many times as I want", I feel there's zero chance anyone could think of him as sane. It was later when he was imprisoned that the fountain happened to him.
Yes, the fountain contributed to destroying the mind and wad likely the largest part of stuff like language needing a crash course. I just don't think the fountain is the whole reason. Both the trauma and the fountain could do it, and of course combining the two would've theoretically destroyed anyone's mind. It's wild he got his mind back at all- but I guess being the original fixed point of all of existence still has unfathomable plot armor.
I had totally forgotten, though, that the save disk uses weren't just after the length of a normal aging lifetime- getting trapped to wait for death AFTER the fountain??? Even if he was like 30 when they imprisoned him (I can't remember the age), a super healthy human lifespan can reach past 100... so it would be over a thousand years before she stole the disk. That lifespan extended by the fountain... omfg it would be so much worse. Wild. I've read it twice and somehow forgot the extent of his punishment.
I have PTSD, so when I imagine what he's gone through, my own PTSD compared to him should be like an earthworm compared to gd Smaug. As an individual, I can't help but think of the infinite destruction it must have done to his state of mind. Even if the fountain never affected his mind directly, he could've come back to her timeline permanently comatose and I'd still go "makes sense, our dude is WRECKED".
So sorry, I absolutely need to shut up, but I've never met someone else who read all of what's out and I APPRECIATE YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN KNOW. I've never swapped fan stories about this and totally love it, so thank you.
Hahahaha it’s fine! I’m like a super fan of this novel! I mentioned the whole thing with the fountain because if I remember correctly when Muriel was explaining what they did to him and when FL found the fountain after fighting the kraken, both specifically said that while extending life span, the water destroys the soul, however the disk prevents him to move on, so it kinda “resets the mind, but his soul is shattered”. I think, it might be the other way (also that bih implied that this thing might be happening loooong before, so that may explain the 5 digits age
Okok ,i think my brain is stupid for english language or maybe because english is not my main language, but based on y'all explanation, so reed is tesilid, but he is the 117th regression that corrupted/evil/after regress so many time due to that he become insane.
He is the 'bad thing/black figure' that MC released from that unstable dungeon at chapter 70 when she use that disk.
so,when she did that, the memory of tesilid of 117th went into the body of tesilid-17th.due to that, the tesilid-17's body is reset and cause the original power of tesilid-17 got seal and for a temporary to lose his memory on how to speak.
So,now in chapter 78,the tesilid guy now is reed but with silver hair.not reed with black.hair. idk what is that fountain.forgive me for not understanding on that part
Haha it’s okay, you got it almost right. In the original episode 100 Thesilid became corrupted and tried to destroy the world, he was defeated and imprisoned for 16 episodes. MC bought the disk from grandma goddess and went to get it in the dungeon where he was kept. As soon as she took the holy relic he was killed. Until there MC only existed in the tutorial, meaning inside of the Gilbert County.
When MC ended the tutorial she was immediately redirected to episode 17, which was also the ground for episode 100 (it’s a bit confusing I KNOW). She saved Thesillid thinking he was the one from that episode, but for some reason that is not very explained, that Terry was 117 Terry, meaning the one she killed in the dungeon.
When Reed realized the other Terry is 117, he theorized that if HE (Reed) can travel through time and space, then the later version of himself (TERRY 117) can also do it.
My theory? After episode 84 the only thing Thesillid wanted was to find MC so his last wish or his powerful will put him there, which would mean he travel there unconsciously. It is also later said that in episode 17 he gave up saving the world and went around looking for MC until he was assassinated by the church again. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, Muriel and the Gods explain MC that Terry was in his way to become a God so imagine how powerful he is
I appreciate the effort but if ur gonna release redrawn dicks as a chapter pls also release censored ver or just the ch the author published.
https://newtoki314.com/webtoon/28829253?stx=%EA%B3%B5%EA%B3%BC+%EC%82%AC%EB%8A%94+%EA%B5%AC%EB%B6%84%ED%95%B4%21&toon=BL%2FGL&title=%EA%B3%B5%EA%B3%BC-%EC%82%AC%EB%8A%94-%EA%B5%AC%EB%B6%84%ED%95%B4-23%ED%99%94&spage=1
It was censored and so yes there is extra “effort”. I read this in the raw first initially so I wouldn’t feel upset if it wasn’t redrawn Bc it’s the authors intent. Again all I want is a separate ch
Wasn’t og illiana and mc supposed to be two different pple and illiana is like a wondering spirit or something. But right now it seems she’s a reincarnation or is the mc misinterpreting her memories as her own
Replying bc I also want to know how this was treated in the novel
I've read some in-depth spoilers and they never mentioned that the two personalities merged. That doesn't mean I didn't happen though.
What I do find is strange is that I think the comic is going a different direction.
From what I recall, this isn't supposed to happen until after he takes away her senses. She is locked up, made blind, mute, and deaf, unless she is in his presence.
Her only escape is through dreams. Through dreams she learns the truth of her heritage through her father (she is a cambion and her father is a demon lord).
So, I have no idea what is going on. Unless those spoilers were all wrong or in the wrong order.
It looks like comic staff is changing the plot
Definitely possible.
On a related note, that is probably why there has been delay in the release of the Tsuyokute anime. The last arc of the light novel (and subsequently, the manga) was absolute trash. It's been more than a year since it's announced release date. Japanese and English fans alike RAGED against it. Allegedly, the author was tired of it and wanted to move on and the mangaka just portrayed what happened in the original work.
Anyway, I'm not saying that the WN/LN is of this mangua is trash. I'm certainly open to a different ending arc, although I don't particularly like that the personality merge (I assume it is a merge) appears to have the OG Illiana as the dominant personality.
As another user said, I think this would be a good chance to get the MLs perspective on things. Flesh him out a bit more rather than relegate him to hot whacko.
