Even if Yeon chose Doha at present, her ultimate companion is Biseol because he's the one to accompany her to ascend when her reign comes to an end. That's probably why Doha wants to participate on the next trial and become emperor himself so he could ascend as well and chase after yeon to the heavens. And hamil, on the other hand, will cycle back to life after death, unable to fulfill his greatest wish to be with Yeon every lifetime. It was bittersweet but the ending felt quite empty even though it had a happy joke to it.

I definitely saw an old movie similar to this where an intersex person lived in a war-stricken place. Men were required to enlist to military and he was forced to be conscripted since he's using a male gender by default. During health check, however, he was discovered to have both genitals. He was put into sleep without his knowledge and when he woke up, his male genitals was missing and has become a woman. She was assigned to work as a maid (I'm not sure anymore). Then she met a young man and fell in love with him. They had a one night stand and she got pregnant. But her baby was taken after birth. In her fury, she started her path to revenge while searching for her child. Then she met an old man one day carrying a time machine. She desperately used it and traveled back in time where she was still a man. Then he met his woman version, slept with her and continued his search. The old man with time machine was the one who kidnapped the baby, brought it back to the year where he was "supposed" to have been born. So technically, he slept with herself, got pregnant with himself. And finally, the old man he met was his future self whose been disrupting the timeline and killing the version of himself whose gone mad with revenge. Idk know the title anymore but it was a Hollywood film. Lol

* I felt heartache and sad for the blonde healer Amicha (forgot his name) because he didn't appear in the final chapters
* Because of the mystery shrouding her mother's past, I actually thought her mother had a power or something
* Does Kira's necklace have power? If yes, what does it do? (I thought the mirror's curse was deflected by the seed dragon and contained into the necklace. But seeing as it sometimes glows together with her red eyes, I guess it contains magic)
* What happens to the dragon after its birth? Will it reign over humankind or dwell into hiding as spectator to humanity's life?
* Can Kira now live as a woman freely? Won't she get punished for treachery against the temple, the Knights orders and the people in majority? Can she freely return to Ouberon without repercussions?
* What does companion mean? Is it friendship? Lover? A tandem for adventures? Well, as long as they're together and happy, it's alright I guess.
* I wonder where they will settle down when they're old and gray. Because, of course, they can't be traveling the world forever. Would they live in the secluded island of Ildeghan?

This story was packed with adventure, intrigue, politics and war. It's spicy enough, you'd forget it's also tagged romance. I haven't read the novel and a lot of people say they're quite disappointed. But imo, this was paced just right. Although, I do feel the end was quite rushed but it also adds to its charm where readers are left wistful and in wonder. Not all story has a happy ending. For Kira, it is just the beginning.

Ian, I hope you won't turn out to be Duke #2 who can't get over a loss. And could gestella be from frame? Because that errand dude has the same uniform of the people from frame. I'd like to see them fight, kayden and pluton but not to the extent they risk their lives. Because for sure, jiwoo would be the first to be heartbroken.
