At 1st I wanted Haru to end with Soudai. But now, that I am reading this manga from the middle (due to update) I really think he's better off with Iwata. Sure, Iwata is a bit superficial & might have planned it out but at least he cherishes Haru & tries to make him happy. He has got guts to stand up to Soudai & is not a coward like him. I became biased towards Soudai because the mangaka made him the seme. But I am sure, if this manga was told from Haru & Iwata's POV, then Soudai would have been the villain. Anyways, if this was the last chapter(which I am hoping, not) then it's a bit anti-climatic. I wish, Haru valued himself a bit more instead of giving in to Soudai so easily.
Well, for me, not really if it's still mainly in Haru's point of view. If it were mainly on Iwata's, I'd want him to get Haru but I'd admit to myself that It's only because it's him I got attached to and not decide that he is the better choice. I agree that Iwata has a more pleasing character but weighing how mean Soudai has been against Haru's deep feeling towards him, I don't think it's worse that SoudaiXHaru happened. I mean, if Haru actually chooses Iwata who he just met over Soudai after realizing what the meanness was all about just because he was kinder and more forward, I'd be a bit troubled about him as a character because Soudai didn't really do anything to intentionally hurt him. He was just stupid and if we'd seen more of Soudai's point of view, I think we'd be able to sympathize a bit more with his stupid insecurities.
P.S. Sometimes I think I sound mean and like I'm looking for a fight (I'm not sure how it comes across to other people, maybe just stupid, IDK) but I really just want to talk about the topic as much as the other person that I happen to disagree with. Well, now I feel akward having to say that...
I don't mind at all. We are all entitled to have our own different opinions. The reason I lean more toward Iwata is that when I thought this manga from Haru & Iwata's POV it reminded me of the manga "Calorie". The circumstances are roughly the same(not exactly though). The only difference is that the best friend(alternate of Soudai) there didn't try to snatch the uke. However he did get a bit jealous & lonely. He even admits that he used to have feeling for the uke there.
Another thing I would like to add is that, I think that because the manga shows less Iwata x Haru it feels like they have just met. But I think they have spent quite a lot of time together already. Several dates at the very least(what i get from their conversation). Whereas Haru didn't have any contact with Soudai for years. No matter how well you knew a person or how deeply you are in love with, if you don't stay in contact for that long, it doesn't actually count as "knowing" that person.
Oh, yeah. I agree about all those years. I was actually thinking more about the time before that. I actually had the several dates in mind but I still thought it was comparatively short. But regardless the time really, if the kinda cliched confession in chapter 6 didn't happen, I'd be going for Haru eventually losing his feelings and gaining 'em for Iwata.
And, yeah, I've read Calorie and if Soudai is actually that half-assed, I'd prefer Iwata get Haru as well.
I almost dropped this manga during the feeding scene. That was just too much for me! I felt nauseated, disgusted & utterly hateful!! BUT, now that I have finished reading it, I am so glad I didn't!! For me, Harada has become the sole Mastermind Ruler of Psychological BL. The brilliant portrayal of the gradual decay in Hijikata's thought process left me completely spell-bound. Mangas like this always leaves me riled up & confused. It makes me think, "No. That's wrong. No...no. But that might be OK. Wait, WTH am I thinking!!...That's completely wrong!!...bu...but!"
Thank you Harada, for another Mind f-cking Amazing piece of work!!
THAT WAS SOOOOOOO FREAKING GOOD & UNDER-RATED!! I don't get why it's not well known or popular??!! These stories are seriously good, if you see it from psychological POV! Miniature Masterpieces, if I may say so! Such a pity that neither this amazing manga is completely scanlated nor this author is getting the attention he deserves.
