The whole story isn’t amnesia but it happens at some point if i’m not mistaken. It’s such a good read if you haven’t read it already.

at first i didnt understand either but someone else cleared it up for me— that friend dong sik is truly a loser and a thief and cirrus caught him in the act of stealing skylar’s money and him sending skylar’s answer sheets to his other friends or smth so that friend felt embarrassed and humiliated and this is his revenge to cirrus by lying to skylar and saying that cirrus planned the fall out between skylar and so called friend dong sik. now skylar is having doubts and trust issues (bc of his traumatic past with his ex friend and bc he knows how obsessive cirrus can be) and now he’s paranoid about cirrus lying and betraying him
