i'm rooting for this character development since he's my bias. Yes, he was so caught up in his feelings that he acted like a complete idiot while holding on to that twisted relationship between him and Ugetsu. I don't condone what he did with Haru but I can understand the devastation Aki went thru when his heart was so broken and he desperately needed someone to save him. When people go through moments of hitting rock bottom like this, they often arent in their right minds, and their actions will become unreasonably stupid. Aki knows that Haru is in love with him, so he took advantage of Haru's sympathy at that moment, and it was very fortunate that Aki stopped before things went too far. Aki was in the wrong, I completely agree, but from a certain perspective, you can feel what he was thinking. He needed somebody to pull him out of this mess, somebody who he knows to be generous enough to accept his everything, and that somebody is Haru. He might have projected that on Haru, but he also reflected on his whole past as well. And all the while Aki was able to calm down and think differently, Haru was there, still by his side, giving him the time to be himself. Haru definitely showed Aki the meaning of a peaceful, gentle love, where he can simultaneously love music and love your significant other, much opposite of when he was with Ugetsu.
You can say that Haru is just a rebound for Aki, but I may disagree. Love can come from different circumstances you know? Love doesnt always has to be because you two have a significant impression in others, it can be at first sight or it can just grow with time, and I believe the time these two spent together was what filled Aki's damaged heart and inspired him to step forward with a clear head.
Yet I still dont hate his past, the time he shared with Ugetsu. I think their love was sincere, bittersweet and at some point, meant to be. But as we all know, Aki and Ugetsu's relationship took a unexpected turn when the two of them decided not to communicate about what was really on the depth of their mind. Ugetsu afraid that his love for Aki was on the verge of becoming his whole existence since he wanted to only devote his feelings for music, and Aki, I'm not really sure but he probably respected Ugetsu's decision so much so that he didn't even question it? Gradually, what left between them was a toxic, emotionally abusive relationship, and it keeps getting worse with every moment they shared together. Ugetsu was eccentric, but I dont disregard his feelings for Aki. If he didn't care at all for Aki, he wouldn't break down in tears when Aki turned away. I think that Ugetsu has his own selfish reasons where he thinks it would be better for Aki to be free or to change himself so he did what he did, but that is just my assumptions. I still feel sad for Ugetsu and hope that he could find another person who can show him that love doesnt have to be about one thing specifically
People be taking sht about communism than support these three sharing smh
