she seems pretty normal to me. isn't the plot about someone being weak and becoming a strong person? why do people expect her to be some bad ass just because she has a special ability? i see a lot of comments complaining that she's only strengthening her ability for the emperor and not her happiness. newsflash: this takes place in historical japan AND she's a woman. every citizen is supposed to dedicate themselves to the country. there isn't such a thing as "live for yourself" in those days.
she's a pathetic creature. i think i would rank hate on her more than the actual villains in the story because she's a foolish bystander in her own life. while pursuing happiness, she causes harm onto the people she claims to love and doesn't put herself in their shoes. its the scenes where she's sitting with claude and "her sister" while knowing athy is hurting bc claude cant remember her that are the worst. she doesn't know how to read the atmosphere despite knowing the chaos in the palace.
in short: she's a person who hides in her kind persona and can't even realize she's causing others harm. and that is the kind of person that rouses the most hate.
if she had her own isekai novel, she would be the perfect protagonist because the life she's living is so pathetic and foolish.
the fl is stupid but the ppl around her... they're all just as bad, maybe even worse since they have common sense unlike the FL. like she doesn't get paid, the ML is essentially bullying her bc he has influence now, her brother doesn't care about her feelings as a woman, her BFF is so demeaning towards her body and conservative love life, her cheating ex... like it makes me pity the FL bc she's just dumb and a pushover. but the other people in her life are literally worse????
i thought it was gonna be the same and oh boy..... i get that there are preferences and like i get on board the sweet home alabama train sometimes but like.... if you want to make an action manga with dark and hentai themes just make the protagonist completely dark and not wishy washy "im the hero" with a tragic backstory while letting him disregard his mom and the things his dad and maid did. it makes ppl think "so the protagonist is supposed to be a good guy?" and that just makes the atmosphere tank.
in comparison take redo the healer, it's hentai and isekai and action, and know that the protagonist is completely psycho for revenge and not the good guy. in my opinion, that's why a lot of people can handle other dark and hentai mangas but dislike this. it has a feeling of "im doing all these messed up actions, it's completely ok and not twisted" while other dark mangas that have messed up themes portray that their characters are bad people with bad morals.
honestly when it comes to having an integrated family with teenagers becoming step siblings and a Family - it's the parent's job to make sure the children foster a sibling relationship. you can't just show up and say "we're married so you guys are family now. act like it."
it seems kinds of backwards for children to give up on their relationship for the sake of their parent's happiness. it's a parent's duty to make sure your child is happy and the things you sacrifice are a part of the role when you decided to become a parent.
i don't know how i feel about the ending... it feels weird that she wasn't given a choice to confess
