Man the author did a great job at the beginning portraying Uke as a total psycho...But I am so happy to see him getting better!! Mental health issue is real and people need to take it seriously!!
I am not saying that to offend anyone. In fact, I think the author did a great job reflecting some of the common mindsets of people with various degrees of depression such as black and white thinking (I am a failure if I don't get it done)and mislabling(He is mocking me/ I am just a nobody). Rationally speaking, we can find a rational response to deny all Uke's claims towards himself. Although I cannot give any professional advice here, I recommend anyone who's having these irrational thoughts and suicidal tendencies to seek professional help and ask about cognitive therapy. A lot of self-hurting thoughts (like it's all my fault/ they are looking down upon me) may seem real and rational, but they are not rational! Please seek help and anyone will eventually find a community that's accepting who they are:) Although it's all up to that specific individual whether they want to make a change or not, it is still good that other people could offer a helping hand!
Lastly, there are philosophical questions such as what's the meaning of living in this world. There are different answers to that. I know we didn't ask to be born, but I think a part of life is to enjoy the journey and seek the meaning of ourselves.
What makes the human spirit great is the grit to get through tough situations in life.
