This is just a guess, but I think what they're doing is a sneaky thing. If authors do come across the site, at least it won't look like "BA-BAM! Here's all the titles on this site" like the huge database/folder it is.
Instead it looks scattered. There are some covers in the latest update and comment section but that's pretty much it. Once you click the link (genre) top 10 or your profile, all titles will show up as normal.
I know it's hypocritical since I've read a lot on this site, but when it was down I did consider if it'd be better if people just stick to how OG fan translations work (works that haven't been licensed, distributed only for personal use and not gain aka no ad revenue) and support authors when you can (for those who are broke like me I recommend renting cheaper titles from Rent-a, or subscribe to Fute-kiya only $6/7 a month, or wait for promos in manhwa sites). There's still a gray line in OG fan translations, I suppose, but usually it does end in exposure and people demanding official translations which happens (Ameiro Paradox, Hidamari ga Kikoeru, etc).
What I appreciate of mangago is the community (except the weirdos out therr i guess-). It's nice that people are active in comments/questions so you can relate to others' reactions to a particular work. But gonna try to check out sites like mangadex cos they have no ads.
