Just so you know, the family only consist MC, sister, mother and father (who did not appear in the story).
The one that really badmouthing or look down on MC is just the servants & retainers.
There’s a reason why mother said that words to the daughter(sister). Mother said that not because she truly want to think MC as nonexistence, she wants others to think so. Mother want MC to have freedom, to not tied to the family, or burdened with feelings that MC has to stay there. She don’t want others to discover MC true power and start bothering MC.
Having too much power sometimes could bring unwanted problems. If the kingdom discovered this fact, they would order for the family to start a war to conquer other race.
Mother remembered that MC has said that he wished to learn magic. But if MC have to stay at the fief, he will never able to learn magic because the mother have no idea how to help him achieve that dream while cooped up in that land. (family members are bounded by king/ruler order to never left the border unless received royal order to so. If they did, they will be punished/treated as rebellions toward the Kingdom).
Those teachers hired are not even able to teach anything worthy to the OP MC.
By treating him as non-existence a.k.a removed from family register, he is not bounded to that place anymore, he can go anywhere and anything he wants.

I've read this manga like a year ago but I can't help but wannt to reread again and again. especially now that I'm struggling with a lot in my personal life. It's scary not knowing where to go or what to aim for and seeing the characters go thru their own struggles of reaching their dreams and somehow making it is a boost that I needed to keep on going and not giving up. haha especially megumi. her character development was really well done. i hope her love with kai blooms (=・ω・=)

i would have liked a story on megumi's bf from paris and what happened to him after she left him... Like secondary characters like Megumi and Kai and the ML's other friends are treated like the MLs, but Megumi's bf from paris doesn't get his ending. He is just left standing in the middle of the apartment woth the key
