Yoooo. This gives me massive houseki no Kuni vibes. Mc is just living life like normal until people with power start fucking shit up. The only person who keep them sane dies and they become some sort of double agent, not sure which side will in a sense, stop the conflict and be least painful. Ofcourse I tried to make plot points as similar as possible but holy fuck the vibes I get are so intense. You end up hating everyone except the mc and you're not sure which side is better because they're both assholes to the mc, who is in the end is going to become something other than what they began the story as. Wow I love reading shit like this. I really love not knowing what the fuck is going on, just like real life!
