Well...when I thought his point of view, if it was me, I'd ignore her thinking she's a gold digger. Imagine, he wasn't even giving her attention but she kept sucking up to him. He didn't know her and no idea what she was up to. Sometimes, her behavior was forced. Do, definitely he'd be suspicious.
Judging by the fact that it's a Chinese manhua, I'm happy that he isn't abusive or she has Stockholm syndrome.
