GUYS GUYS GUYS PLS I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY so i spent like an unnecessary amount of time mapping the in universe alphabet and a lot of the writing since the school arc cn be translated ZOFEY'S PAINTING ACTUALLY HAS "to my dearest" WRITTEN ON IT
i assume the text on the painting was written by the mangaka, and thats why go,u reads it as "to my best friend" despite the text on the painting being in english

i assume the term gozu uses in japanese is less clear and thats why the translation went with "best friend" but the text on the painting itself is definitely "my dearest". I think theyll make it obvious anyway in the oncoming chapters, but i just thought this difference is funny PLUS LIKE CMON HES CANONICALLY BEING GAYER
also since we're all here anyway and i can autistically rant abt fun facts for a minute, back in the school arc when theyre in the library and eve leaves the table then when gozu finds him and he's reading a book. The cover of the book says "cooking". He was reading a cooking book because gozu liked odigos's food that morning ;;;;;;
