For me, it's because there's more romance in yaoi rather than shoujo. Sometimes, shoujo makes women to be weak and in need of help all the time. It gets really annoying. Not all women are like that. Plus, yaoi has more fluffy romance that doesn't involve a human incapable of thinking on its own.

All the good yaoi out there need to be animated lol. But seriously, there's a lack of yaoi animes as compared to ecchi/harem/fan-service-big-boobed animes. I would die if I see Katekyo! or Honto Yaju or Rutta no Kodama animated. Just animate more yaoi/shounen-ais, yuri even. ┗( T﹏T )┛
