What do u mean by that im curious, tan and lighter koreans exist so are you saying that it’s weird they chose to draw Sera as a lighter Korean? I’ve always thought of it showing that she’s distinctly from a modern society, though it has it’s pros and cons as an irl society by doing this

yeah i thought the same thing initially, but im slowly realizing that they made the person who is modern so light skinned in comparison to all the people native to the land, and the plot is giving her some kind of power idk, it’s just making me question everything. i’m not saying the author intended it to be that way, but it’s just something that has been gradually becoming noticeable for me.

I’m also Asian and I felt like this whole thing felt like there was some discrimination, hierarchy, and racial undertones. Just because she’s Korean or light skinned is not important. It’s the fact that she is an outsider and is portrayed as somehow better in comparison to the people native to that island.
A person can be discriminative towards people indigenous to lands within the country they inhabit

You’re absolutely right and as someone who’s black+asian, I definitely noticed these things and not many people brought it up until recently; I’d like to see the author give their analysis on it themself without a cheap few word excuse

Same, I’m curious to see how they’ll defend their work through a critical lens but, I’m almost certain, that they’ll use cheap words for an excuse or simply offer no explanation at all
