I don't think it is going to work out for Chase and Joel. Joel just wants to be a father figure for Chase because he wants the affection of a son. His attention to Chase is just so clearly platonic.
If he does find out about Chase's feelings, I think he will either flat out reject him or they'll wait until Chase is out of school, which I think is less likely.
Well Joel wants a mother figure too, and Chse is like that, doing laundry, keeping the house clean, making a family atmosphere.
I get what you’re saying but that is really stereotypical, a man could easily do those things too. Also chase is a kid even if he has nurturing tendencies the last thing on his mind should be trying to be someone else’s mom when he needs a mom himself

I don't really understand what's going on in the first half of the chapter. I'm guessing those guys are yakuza, but it doesnt really explain what's going on. Is it just me?

I have to admit I didn't understand much too, like was Eight trying to sell someone ? Because he was writing about someone who's 19 but he said he was 24 .... I don't understand. He may be lying about his age but then what the "assist" part about.... idk
OMG can y'all not see that it's Eight who's asking for someone else?! He's the one texting "I need someone for tonight". And they reply offering him a 19 yo. He's not selling himself or anyone else there, just maybe looking for a second boy to help him since he's seeing someone that day (he's a rentboy too). I believe the yakuza parts are supposed to be confusing because yakuzas are shady and have shady business, maybe it's just the author getting too "technical" about those aspects.

it's always a bit difficult for me to get into a manga where the kids speak like adults....
Reading this was weird at times since it could get confusing when the children are speaking. The scene where there were playing in the sand ughh. I can't believe Masaki and Daichi are 5 years old for them to have those vocabulary.
I felt compelled to comment the same thing. It could be a product of the translation (like when Masaki says "Have a safe trip" which sounds weird from a 5-year old, but itterashai doesn't), but I'm not too sure that's the case.
