I dunno. Minwoo literally didn't want this. All the circumstances that happened to him were out of his control. First off, even if his mom had a reason for leaving, it doesn't excuse the fact that she never even reached out once but somehow was able to properly take care of the kids. Minwoo didn't even really have a choice in taking over as director which is frustrating. Everything that's happening is not something he even wanted and while yes, down the line he's going to be fulfilled and not regret that decision, it's only because he himself worked hard to make something out of the unfortunate circumstances that was caused ultimately by his mother. One could argue that the mom had a reason we'll know but minwoo was not only abandoned (he even begged for her to stay and she still left), but he had to pay for her funeral home by getting his home deposit back leaving him homeless. Yes she didn't pick the funeral home but if she was getting paid enough at the daycare anyway, she should have at least ensured her own funeral was taken care of especially knowing that you want the son you abandoned to be there and take care of shit once you're gone.
Anyway, rant over. Aside from the story, I actually genuinely like the mc and the kids. They aren't bland at all and I'm sure they'll be more fleshed out as the story goes, but I probably won't read this until it finishes because it would just piss me off if I have to wait weeks upon weeks of update just to not get justification for MCs suffering

i'm with you. i especially didn't like how EVERYONE left him clueless, they acted like he knew from the start what he was getting into, as if he *wanted* to be in that director's position. if they think that MC knows everything bcs MC's mom made them think so, then that's even more reason for me to hate her.
how the kids acted towards him at the beginning also annoyed me a bit, which wasn't their fault, i understand they love their director and didn't like her being replaced by some random new guy, but maybe i didn't like how the author tried to make light of the situation, by having MC "try" to win over the kids. i mean neither him or the kids want him to be the director.

This too! Like while the kids reactions were justified, the adults weren't. It's frustrating! And minwoo just has to take everything in the fly because everytime something happens, he doesn't even know what or why it's happening! And they somehow expect him to handle the situation still. Can't even fault minwoo for being a pushover because they took his only way of actually not living on the streets.

It explains it for sure, but this does not redeem him. Yes, his past is terrible and no child should ever go through what he did. And yes though lots of people turn out for the better, not all humans are the same and everyone processes trauma differently, but even if that explains his behaviour, I repeat, it does not EXCUSE it. You can feel sorry for him while still hating him for being an ass.
Take ALL the rest you need. If it means this doesn't end, a rest every chapter is a okay with me
bro take all the rest, even 100 peoples worth of rest that okay, but this is too adorable to enddd
