I actually pity the brother. From some fragments of his memories, I assume that he was manipulated by his mother at a young age. The phrases that keeps bugging him such as "you're little brother is laughing at you" probably came from her. His false image of how evil the mc's father is(forgot their names am sorry) was fabricated. He was messed up because of his mother. I don't think he necessarily hated his borther just because so, it is the product of his mother's manipulation. I actually wish they help him.
