I think it's because her father was against their marriage, and because the prince has to go away for a while (to have some type of negotiation thing with the neighboring country) so he wanted to have some time with her before he left. ╮(￣▽￣)╭ i mean... he said let's run away but really what i think he meant was "let's travel and have some fun before i have to go and not see you for a while"
