It’s funny, because the brothers are childish—they’re children, I don’t expect anything else from them really. But like... Hari is a grown ass person in a little body... I get she wasn’t fully an adult yet but surely she must have some maturity? Sis is being more childish to counter the brothers when there are so many other ways to deal with them as someone older... jeez.
You know it’s a really good webtoon when the comments are this diverse in emotions lol
The characters are so unique. I won’t say well developed, because let’s face it, they weren’t, but good crazy characters are rare because almost no author usually has enough insanity to write bonkers characters that push obsession, narcissism, or manipulative compulsions to the limit. They were underdeveloped of course, the author focused on how crazy they all were and not really why they were made that way (more of the MC’s childhood to show why she became so incredibly self centered would’ve been nice). Honestly, the best friend was the most understandable characterization considering how little the author developed their characters, but the way he died was lazy writing in my opinion.
The death that sparked the entire plot was loosely tied up (which I can appreciate, leaves plenty of room for theories) but rather lazily. I don’t think the author took as much time planning out the plot than they did the blue print of the three main characters themselves—so you can find just about a plot hole every ten chapters. How was the dead boyfriend so rich that he could get high AND drunk (a bit of overkill tbh) still while being able to afford the MC as a girlfriend? I mean a columnist is like a horribly low paying job, at least not well paid enough for their lifestyle of common gifts and shopping sprees. Also, an addict would’ve been very noticeable if he lived with someone, was intimate with them often, and took drugs basically every day (from what I understood in the story). Why didn’t the stupid obsessed ‘in love’ bestfriend do anything to help him, especially when he literally witnessed his lifelong “love” hang himself? I mean, it takes so long for a body to die by strangulation. Sometimes bodies can still be resuscitated even after breathing stops. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but it takes like 10 mins (exaggeration) after the oxygen flow is cut off for brain functions to completely stop. There WAS SO MUCH TIME for him to have saved that poor man, who literally lived like 20 seconds away. Instead he acted as if the man was already dead before he even tipped over the chair (a morbid way to put it, I admit.) And the MC had like hundreds of gallons of gasoline/lighter fluid for the ‘finale’ but she only used like half of one container? Hm.
Overall even the supporting characters were well written to a degree. That ballerina always second best to the MC was pretty interesting although predictable. Betty Boop was sporadic and weird (never explained or even fully hinted at why she was so dang rich), and whats-his-face, Damon? He was unbelievably 2 dimensional and boring. we all knew he was going to be nice and normal and in love, and support the MC through everything despite the danger to himself. It was fitting to have made him the hostage with no character input at one point.
I liked this story, if not just for the amazing art that draws you in or the fast paced tension that gave me chills (I love me some crazy). I binged this (it’s 1 am) and i do not regret a thing.
I’m going to get so much hate for this but
