lmao i am absolutely dropping this one... it makes less and less sense with every new information we get

Sometimes it's really hard to talk about it when you got raped especially when the rapist made you unsure about your innocence

right and the guilt from letting it happen despite the victim didn't or wanted too! still the guilt is heavy when its not the victims fault

Yes, I read the raws. S1 already ended on CH 73 and we’re waiting for S2. The BL is still ongoing and it’s a BL even if S1 might not seem like it because the author already explained it. We still don’t know what fate Anubis will have.

"Pls baby Anubis get out of this mess" well technically he can and Horus did tell him he can become a God by detaching himself from moral's emotions n etc which will release him from his curse n pain. But he chose violence, he rather does something that hurt Seth more than "get out of this mess" himself, even after knowing some of the truths about Seth, he still chose violence (looks like revenge to me) didn’t he? So what's your point?

Ofc it's "toxic" cause there's incest, rape and more. But the setting isn't 21st century. If u read history books, you'll know incest was a common practice to preserve bloodlines. And this isn't a normal historical manga, it's a fantasy Egyptian(not sure if just Egyptian) mythology manga. Even Zeus (Greek mythology) sleeps with his sisters. It's a common practice on their side. Now we're not justifying that these deeds are right, it's just then when reading these kinds of materials, we need to remove the 21st century mindset. Ppl in mythological settings (and even in history) can massacre hundreds of ppl without batting an eye, what more if it's rape? These things were "normalized" back then. IMO the stories aren't even "fucked up" for this setting lol. It's totally normal. It's intended to be a bit of angsty and dramatic after all. This is intended for mature audience, those who can read stuff like this and still not apply these stuff in their lives. Again we're not normalizing, just that their practices are different from ours. Like what ppl say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

I meant the story of this webtoon isn't even that "fucked up" compared with other historical materials. The famous story of Oedipus with his mother is an example of incest related materials throughout the history. So again, if you are not up for this setting, you can read other light-themed genres. Oh btw, Game of Thrones is also an example of a fantasy show with incest and its widely known (though personally it's not my cup of tea). So yeah, there are other genres there for younger audiences.

As i said in my comment the problem for me is not the incest and i think a 24 years old person ( me ) is mature enough to read this kind of story. My problem with this one is how every relationship is toxic in some way not just the romantics. Isis having a baby with the pearson that betrayed her just for revenge, seth with his family, Osiris with everyone. I understand that u guys are cheering for seth and Horus but even Horus love for seth is problematic, it start from a desire to be by his side because seth the most powerful god showed him fragility and affection when he was a child and had a really bad environment and now this desire turned into "love".
I'm not judging if u guys like this kind of things not at all be free to sympathy with the characters all u want i was putting my thoughts in my comment because for me love can't rise from toxic and problematic though but if u think it can it's ok go for it.

Well as u probably remember to one of his gouls is to set his mom free too not just lift the curse and he thinks the only way is defiting hes father. He knows the truth? Nop he just know that seth still have fillings for him not that osisris plotet all this mess and horus could tell him all the Truth from the past till the fact that his true mom is locked in a mirror but no he just selected a part of the truth and told him and this part was something that him belived through his hole life till the moment that he couldn't anymore and ploted with the gods to take seth from the trone. In the begging of the store have a scene that he is talking with his mom saying that he cant keep waiting hes father sanity come back anymore and about revenge well if u can abandone one of the only persons that showed u love ( his mom) and fogive someone that never apologized to u after abusing u fiscally and mentally well congratulations ure a santh

The problem with what you say is that Horus doesn't believe that the Neftys in the mirror is Anubis' mother, he thinks that only the fake one, the one outside is Anubis' mother. AND Horus has his reasons to distrust what the mirror showed him.

You're right that Horus' current love for Seth is sort of problematic, but it may not necessarily stay that way, given the change in their respective situations at the end of season 1... and particularly so if Horus does become a god later, since in order to become a god Horus basically needs to overcome the same curse that Anubis had, which was shared by the two of them (in other words, that he probably also needs to get rid of any "childlike" attachment to Seth, himself).

I said "some of the truth", I didn't say he knows everything now. And ofc his mom will show him love, not only is he her childe but she also holds guilt whenever she sees him. As for Seth, he has been messed up by not only Osiris but also Horus (he's the reason why Anubus is cursed since he drugged him to be by his side), so when Anubus heard a part of the truth from Horus, he never questioned why Seth became like this? He never wanted to find the core of everything? To me, no one is a sane here. Therefore, my original comment is mostly to talk abt I disagree with you seeing him as "a cinnamon".
Also, if your issue with Seth is he never apologized, well congrats, you got what you want now, he chose to do it through action, he's not hesitant to harm himself to make up with Anubus. Like someone could talk properly or even apologize properly after so many trauma, doubts n shit happened to them, no one was there to listen to Seth, he has gone crazy dealing all of those alone. His sister didn't even ask or help him, blame him for her broken marriage, curse him and plan any possible ways to take him down. And other gods are just minding their own business and watch the show.

Well if you think about it every love is kind of like that. We love those who fit with our standards, those who'll appreciate us. From what I see, this 3 main characters are more human than other mangas. Love can rise out of anything, their all pretty fucked up so they fit each other.

It's okay hun, if u can't handle this manga. Cause for us, we like it, I like the twisted stuff in it(revenge, unexpected plot twists (like how Osiris actually lusted for Seth), unsolicited angsty drama, and etc are common). Also like I said, we must abandon the 21st century mindset. "Love" can thrive out of anything in this setting, because simply there were no laws againsts incest or advocacy against rape wasn't really prevalent back then, simply put, in their setting, there were no laws. The STRONG IS THE LAW, it's how it is. As ppl say, the history is written by winners, and if you're strong you'll dictate everything cause they can't make u submit to what the "good laws" are. They are not civilized like we are. In fact they're not civilized at all. THAT'S WHY, I said their "love" is different from ours. It can thrive from anything since there are no "laws" that prohibit u from loving ur sister, or ur rapist. We just need to put ourselves there when reading these kinds of things, imagine you're a person from there, a 3rd party bystander and try to live like them, empathize with them. I don't even need to mention historical examples cause there are plenty. I mean throughout the history, it's always like this, murdering(massacres), poisoning, betrayal of kingdom, having harem even when in marriage, raping ur cousin, and etc, are common. What more if it's not just historical but ALSO in mythological setting, right?

If it's a modern manga set in 21st century, I would also say it's toxic since we, the ppl of 21st century, are already civilized and were already taught what's wrong and right. But that doesn't mean I'll tell ppl to not like this particular manga. If ppl don't apply those twisted stuff IRL, then it's okay. It's just like being a fan of horror and gore movies but not actually KILLING anyone or having thoughts of killing anyone, because u know it ain't right.

So hun, to save urself some stress, u can take a break from this webtoon until you're ready for it.

My goodness when i said that ppl can't like it? I was just putting MY thoughts about this story in a comment i never said that people are wrong liking it! As i said in my previous comment you're free to like what u want and I'm not judging anyone otherwise u guys are criticizing me just because i said that FOR ME love can't come from obsession for me this is more like desire than love but if u guys think that it can it's ok because this is just a story and everybody have they own opinions. I don't think that I'm not ready for this story is just that i didn't sympathized with the characters ( just anubis bcs his a messed up baby that just need love)

Haha no one said that you're prohibiting ppl from liking it. I literally didn't say that as well. I just said, I WON'T if it WERE ME. I hadn't expected u to actually put emphasis on JUST that point of mine, since I thought u didn't mind if I put myself as an example. What I said went two-way, we also don't prohibit you from not liking this webtoon, but u took it the wrong way, sorry if I didn't explain it clearly. Plus, I feel like all my explanations were done for nothing, now I feel like my efforts are wasted. We're not criticizing u, we're helping u understand and have that mindset. U need to have the right mentality to fully enjoy and grasp the story. But it seems that this is not for u. It's fine if u don't, just like how we like it, but it's enough that u tried and I'm sure the author wouldn't want to have someone who's not into her/his/their work still linger around. Well, was not very clear that u was using yourself as an example sorry. Sorry i just didn't talk about the rest of your comment because I'm a bit tired of responding people but u was sweet in a way soo I'm gonna reply again. Well as a reader of harada sensei jobs I'm really cool with toxic, dark and heavy storys and topics and i understand that this one is in a distent era when toxic rap and a lot of messed up things was normalized I'm just a bit tired of this kind of storys as i said in one of my previous comments and because i just sympathized with only one of the characters im not very attached with this story. It didn't finishd yet so the characters still have some time for development but im not that very found of soo for me RIGHT NOW doesn't really care that much. I was i bit pissed when u said that this was not for me due my age and there was more suitable genres this soo called age ( hahaga this comment made me laugh soo hard) so i was a bit stubborn and didn't care that much for the rest but yeah probably after some time and with some more chapters piled up i can come back and read( probably I'm gonna do this because i really like anubis and wanna know what happens to him) but RIGHT NOW is totally a no FOR ME. after reading almost a thousand mangas and lots of them having this kinds of topics I'm tired and wanna some change of environment if u get wat im saying and my comments they're following my mindset right know that im tired but my opinion can change in the future but some things really can't change as my opinion about obsession can't turn into true love in MY POINT OF VIEW.

I think it's a good idea! Put it as a warning soo people can understand that this is a really messed up story with some crazy constant so they need to jump into it with a totally different mindset that we people from 21 century have. That they need too embrace themselves and not think too logically and rational and jus enjoy what it haves to offer.
