you guys saying the communication felt out of place and rushed.. at least for leo it’s not. he said it this chapter, he saw how jj treated him cold and can disregard him, he realized it’s literally now or never or else he will lose jj forever. he was hit in the head and even rushed out in the rain, you saw his shoes? he didn’t even wear them properly but he ran, and you think he wouldn’t communicate and say all the needed things to get jj back?

saikawa and tsukasa are obviously foils. tsukasa cannot continue loving yusei because he is overcome with insecurity, he cannot continue to cheer and support yusei in his path as an actor, and this has an effect on yusei not taking acting seriously and all being apatethic about it.
meanwhile even tho saikawa knows yusei is a rival in the acting industry, he cannot stand yusei not showcasing his talents and became his support in acting way before they developed feelings for each other. its innate in saikawa's personality.
that resulted to yusei having a stable view on acting and gaining confidence to continue acting further.
does anyone know a similar manga about japanese urban legends particularly about remote villages like the setup here? idc if it’s not bl i just need more mysteries/horror like
Mob sometimes do that but it's more comedy than anything (but with a really good and emotional ending)
Hanako-Kun isn't in remote villages but it is about a lot of ghost legends and reading this reminds me of a more actually horror HanaNene.
Well, to be honest it's a mixture.
The cute moments and clinging reminds of HanaNene cuteness and clingy behavior but the more messed up parts reminds of Tsukasa and Hanako messed up moments and clingy behavior.
In short Hanako-Kun is actually the first thing that comes to my mind when reading The Summer Hikaru Died because they have the same vibes, even them drawn inside the box together feels a lot like the Hanako and Nene official arts.
Junji Ito obviously, most do take place in villages from what I remember but even when they don't they do give this feeling of really secluded and small village even if maybe it's a city.
It feels isolating and in the middle of nowhere even when there isn't any village in the story.
The last obvious one is When They Cry.
There is no better anime about a village with a ghost legend than that (in my opinion) given the whole concept of the village is about that.
Last it's not a anime/manga but a mobile free game called The Ancestral Legacy.
Pretty much the same base of this Manga, MC family lives in a isolated village who heavily believes in this spirit and sacrifices (he's not aware of the sacrifice part, but is aware of the spirits belief) and think it's dumb but obviously he starts seeing the spirit they worship after a while of being in the secluded village.
