In becoming a mother you loose a lot of the freedom and opportunities that you once had because you need to be there for a child. While motherhood can be beautiful and rewarding, it comes with a lot of sacrifice and this can be a very difficult transition for a new parent, especially a very young one who may have had dreams outside of being a wife and mother that will now go unfullfilled.
In addition to this loss of freedom, many women experience POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION after giving birth, which is like a super bad depression caused by all of the pregnancy hormone changes fucking with your brain. Read up on it! It’s super interesting, but like in a sad human way, and a lot of women’s health stuff like this does not get talked about enough. THANK YOU AUTHOR

There is also postpartum psychosis, which is much rarer (effects about 2 in 10000 women) and leads to sorta schizophrenic/bipolar psychotic episodes in women who before their pregnancy had basically been neurotypical regular janes. It’s absolutely terrifying cuz it might happen to anybody and it can get to moms-drowning-babies-in-the-bathtub levels of bad when untreated. (Family history of bipolar disorder is loosely linked as a risk factor)

Profiler is a terrible person, but an excellent Foil for Kangaroo Moon. Both of them appear to be psychopaths who use others as pawns and will manipulate others into killing in order to further their own ends. The biggest difference between the two seems to be that Kang Moon seems to be slightly more emotionally driven, having a goal of revenge, and tries to logically justified it to himself that out of all people, his victims were most deserving of what he did to them. The prophiler on the other hand, seems to be primarily focused on his own profit. He justifies his manipulations to others as doing what he must to get results, but appears to be enjoying it. In the character prophiler, we have to one person in the story more heartless/psychopathic than kang moo. Where Moo does not directly profit from his murders, has a specific target he feels worthy of death from the start, the prophiler is an opportunist who will take chances to be as cruel and manipulative as possible while working on his main goal of self-benefit.
Therefore prophiler = more selfish and less concerned with concepts of right and wrong than Moo
