It’s not rare in manga or manhua but in manhwa it’s rare cuz they usually start with good story but as plot further develops, the focus only becomes romance.

Once again i’m so glad romance didn’t overtake the story, it’s so hard to find this in korean manhwas.
Hopefully mc develop an actual personality soon, but I doubt that will happen cause most of the time, manhwas has ml(seme) doing everything. Also the art style is breathtaking.

Hayoon absolutely did not feel like an mc because he was just there while everything was happening around him eg problems being solved or created he was not a compelling character at all.

He was just a student how had no power before that he used to sell his body since he was kid his step dad used to abuse him, his mother was lying in death bed the brother whom he trusted never helped him and the person whom he thought he could trust manipulated , Raped him and made him drug taejoo but when he got to know the truth isn't he the one who used his body to stop sehwan and saved taejoo causes of him taejoo stopped being a coward , he did a lot of things but just never went the way he wanted for me his character was portrayed really really well u may agree or not but his character was really strong

It’s been years since i first read this and i had yet to find another korean bl manhwa to make feel like king’s maker.
I know, it’s the perfect blend of strongly written characters, worldbuilding, and a well written plot with just a little bit of smut thrown in. I’m bitter that there were no Randolph x Ulysses scenes when there was so much psychological and plot buildup for their relationship.
I also found it hilarious that the rebellion was made possible primarily by the political maneuvering of Shin (while he was still a child) and Ulysses’ army/harem of buff killer masochists
