I wonder if Tristan will actually get a second chance.
He has wronged, but is also being manipulated. And the look on his face when he thought he could escape and move on was too precious.
Team Tristan gets a second chance
Cap, he planned all of it. He’s not the one being manipulated. Gasped was the one being manipulated. Gasped actually kinda liked Tristan while Tristan was using him because he was jealous of his own niece who genuinely loved him. And if she invited Tristan, Tristan would try and regain himself because he feels bad about what he did. He’ll try and isolate Ivona and try to take Claude from Ivona. He’s not trying to “escape”, he’s trying to overpower and isolate her.
In many ways, the ending felt so sudden. Like a lot of odd/potentially complex feelings or developments were just ignored.
Not the ending I expected. (Though I accept it)
But I think it could have been justified more thoroughly at the end.
+There was not much interaction between the two which leaves it on a kinda underwhelming note.
(Still worth reading overall, but after the big betrayal, the story kinda gets a little wonky)
