Now before I get into this I wanna stress this is me talking to this person if it Wasn't fiction, I love the slow character development. With this is mind let's continue. Now sir I know you have good intentions but you have a bad way of showing it. The moments where you're not trying to help financial problems and just having fun with this man is what makes you look like a nice, chill, funny person, and all around good guy. But the problem is, when you try to help him with money problems he didn't as help for. Leading him to thinking. He pitys me, he looks down on me, he's just felxing! You do learn from you're mistake when he expressed his feelings but you failed to keep that up when you offered him a car ride and taxi when he was already passed, you should have just let him go.
