So I read the novel, and karlyle was acting "strange" according to ash. Ash being ash wanted to know what was going on so he kept pressuring karlyle while getting freaky with the toys they bought. In the end, karlyle said he wanted them to get married. This could've really been a nice and cute scene but ash's pestering and coercion really ruined it for me.
