As much as I love the Raven Ebony, I feel like she grew too quickly. She’s clearly not over her trauma, but she turned into a completely different person in a month...when she was mistreated for her whole life. Realistically, it doesn’t make sense to me because no one should be able to recover from trauma that quickly and rapidly changes their personality. Also, this is somewhat of an act she's putting on so we still don’t know the real ebony, and that kind of bothers me. But otherwise, I really like the story and how it’s going so far. That’s mainly the only criticism I have.
There is many way to insult someone, one is the manner of speech. That is what you have done, I simply matched the way you speak to people you don't know, because you did it twice. Maybe you thought you could freely make fun of people that you believe are stupid, but said people have feelings you know and above all, not blind.
LMAO you thought I was being sarcastic? No no the tone must have come off wrong but I love this webtoon a lot, I genuinely enthusiastically meant "oh shit" and not in a condescending way. It clicked. I'm sure I've praised this webtoon somewhere. You've completely misconstrued my tone & that's fair and all, tone can be interpreted wrongly on the internet but there was really no need to personally attack me ESPECIALLY since there was a chance I wasn't trying to be an asshole. I'm not that petty. I only attack those who've wronged me personally this came out longer than intended but I hope I got my point across. You really had me confused
I genuinely was!! Everything made sense then. I thought I'd said something sorta rude in another thread (I can't remember ever attacking anyone personally on this site but there you go) but then it'd make no sense to square up to me here where I'm just vibin, so I got defensive. I was so confused thanks for understanding
There’s so many people in the comments who like this story and I’m lost so I wanted to share my personal issues with it
-everything was fine with the story until chapter 3
- Let's talk about chapter 3. Wow, that was a mess. Uke gets mad at seme because he's talking to some girl. Then he bitches about it to the seme KNOWING that the seme likes him. Like I don’t know if the author was trying to tell us that the uke had feelings for the seme, but what happened next I- He really chained him up until the uke realized that the seme truly liked him.
-Now I'm thinking wow this is bad but it can’t get worse. But then he continuously touches the uke and the uke stays trapped for days while not knowing how much time has passed. He starts to have anxieties about being replaced at work and wants to feel needed. He tries to leave but then has flashbacks to how the seme needed him and wanted him and I- If this isn't the most toxic shit ever then I don’t know what is. The seme took advantage of the uke’s feeling of wanting to be needed and sexually assaulted him all for his own pleasure.
- Well, how do we know this? The seme tells his other friend that he wants to make sure the uke can't live without him and never wished for the uke to be happy without him. This is one of the worst portrayals of a psychotic character, that the author intended for us to like, that I have ever seen. Are we suppose to route for him? Are we supposed to like him because based on his actions? Are we suppose to ignore all his previous actions just because the uke ends up with him?
-The ending was so unsatisfying. The uke became so attached and reliant on the seme that he wanted to be with him. He accepted him even though the uke locked him up and assaulted him. This was such a disgusting ending because he was manipulated and so delusional after all that trauma. The author acted like the sexual assault and imprisonment that occur was normal by making the uke end up with his abuser. I extremely disliked this message due to the fact that she wrote an abusive psychotic character who hurt the victim he was obsessed with, but made it seem like no big deal.
Oh wow same i didn't like it that much and yes it was fucked up the moment the seme really did imprisoned the uke, i was flippin and it's such a short manga i wish there was more closure and the problem of the story isn't a big deal actually (talking to another girl wth cliche and childish actually) It's not bad but just wasn't enough for me, wish it was atleast 4-5 chapters more
You guys are really justifying what he did like wtf. He locked up his friend in there against his will, assaulted him, and gaslighted him. And then after all that trauma you’re like,” omo! He consented so its not rape,” LIKE??? Did we really read the same story...??? Y’all really said,” uwu hes so hot we love a psychopathic seme who locks his friend up and assaults him until he becomes used to it and craves it.” Anyways I don’t dislike yandereish characters but this went too far and left a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm thinking if they presented lots more information early on about how much they both needed each other before it got wild it wouldn't have felt so broken.
It could have been more of a gradual build-up with a serious payoff.
But when he flat out calls the romance one-sided it should have been all over.
Let me just go rewrite this real quick -- But yeah definitely some tonal issues.
Um
Lol okay
So because you didn't like the manga it was bad???
Right...
The manga was good.
Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it was bad smh.
If the author wanted to write a story with a psychotic seme then I'd say they're free to do what they want
Ofc it had pages many people are gonna dislike but if that was the idea then the manga was good.
Either way it was good, you just mad it wasn't fluffy ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
I really love this story and the way it turned out, but I think everything happened too quickly. I still don’t really know WHY Kangwoo loves Doyoon or why he was interested in the first place. The author didn’t really develop their relationship and that kind of bothers me. We know why Doyoon came to like Kangwoo because of all the affection, care, and support hes shown. But I still don’t know why Kangwoo is so obsessed with Doyoon. Yes Doyoon is Kangwoos type, but for him to threaten Doyoon in order for him to date him I was like huh??? Why was he so attached to Doyoon besides him being cute like when/why did this attraction turn into love?? So yea, great story with amazing characters, but their relationships just felt underdeveloped in my opinion. I wanna see more communication between the characters instead of sex scenes.
Pffft haha didn’t realize I had actually responded to you in the previous comment. I guess some people here aren’t expecting much anymore cuz thats how most of these yaoi webtoons are nowadays. < had to be careful with what I say. (⊙…⊙ ) which is can be applied to me too. BUT I think this series CAN DO so much better or I just HAD high expectations for it. First the artwork of this series is TOP NOTCH! Gorgeous characters! ITS JUST MISSING 2 IMPORTANT THINGS! 1st: A better plot that shows character development or ATLEAST I HATE TO SAY IT, put in some cheesy aspects of romance into this. It could be anything that people IN LOVE would do for one another or etc. (aside from sex) Or disclose like past history or reason why the director fell head over heels for the uke. HIM being cute doesn’t really do justice for me. :0 (Which you already mentioned it but for me I don’t really feel that much romantic feelings coming from the main pair.) 2nd: actual communication. Like if the seme didn’t always seem to be horny all the time, he could have had several conversations with the uke abt this and that. (But in my opinion it’s both parties fault. Because ones too forceful (seme) and ones (Uke) not clear/too submissive. Tho I believe that the director has communicated his feelings clearly in this series.< all his emotions were fresh as fuck. A MAN CRYING= breaks my heart ) Then maybe we the readers would understand their relationship more. Ahh there so much to say.. I’m gonna stoop here for now.... ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
I didn’t enjoy this story at all. Asano was really speaking facts. Yaku knew that Hino liked him, but still decided to take advantage of his feelings and make him a sex friend. It was obvious that Hino wanted more but Yaku ignored that and continued to invite him over for sex. He was just overall really mean to Hino for literally no reason. This was wack.
