At this point Soohyun and Sooha are in a relationship. The grandfather has a spy (I'm guessing the neighbor guy) watching them to make sure Soohyun is doing everything he's supposed to be doing. The spy has relayed to the grandfather that Soohyun and Sooha are a little TOO close to be just bodyguard and bodygaurded. At this point, I don't think Soohyun has any real intentions to aid in locating the jewel and is instead trying to formulate a plan to get Sooha and himself out of dodge.
Right now the plan to locate the jewel is to attempt to get Soohyun to learn hypnosis because it seems that both Ray and Sooha are comfortable enough around him for it to be effective. If they can use hypnosis to get Ray to come out, they can interrogate him to determine the location of the jewel.
