I ready this almost 3 years ago and forgot the existence because its been so long. Had me cried, rooting, and dreading along with these two characters. I was surpised to check that this author wrote Yarichin Bitch Club because her storytelling on this was amazing. Author peels each of the character's trauma one by one, in particular she lets us knew Haoran pieces by pieces. I felt Haoran anxiety and the story keeps giving me sense of brooding. Like something will go wrong like Haoran always fear of.
Story (CONTAIN SPOILERS)
Happy of The End told a story about two troubled men, with troubled past, meeting each other and swept up with their current situation. We have Chihiro who had massive tendencies to ruin himself due to his abandonment and lack of secure because his parents disown him and the only love he ever received was from some man who treat him like a side piece since the first time and until the end of it. Feeling hopeless, he resorted to fraud, stealing, cheating, living off other people, and just not thinking ahead.
Haoran who goes by multiple name in the comic, is peculiar man with troubled past, and you can tell that those troubled past fucked him up in the head. Haoran was the main focus on the later half of this story and i felt him so bad. Fearing a sense of normalcy that Chihiro gave him, because like he said, it gave him a slight hope that things will be okay. What really becomes the highlight for me is that on the first half, you'll see Haoran almost stoict, never gave in, never emoting anything other than wanting to be pleasured, and later he would look so livelier, so many expression drawns and it made me feel happy.
I will try not to speak a lot on this, i just want people to check it out.
