okay, so before i go into detail, how much spoiler do you want? a quick summary of what happens between penelope & that asshole derrick or just complete spoiler of the plot lol

SPOILER! (oh & it's been a while since i read the spoilers & some of it was mtl, so it's prob not a 100% accurate. any who, you're in for a ride lol)






PART 1:
so technically, penelope never belonged in korea in the first place. she was originally born in this "game's" world (notice game is parenthesized) but was sacrificed too many times by the fake sister. the game isn't actually a game but is real, & she isn't just playing a character but herself. oh & yvonne's body is being possessed by some witch. so from the moment she appeared on screen, she's not the real sister. the real sister had already died & she took possession of the body. idky penelope is being targeted by the witch, but apparently her soul has been dying on loop since forever for some reason. & every time she dies, the wizard figures out that they were all being manipulated by the witch, understands what they've done & regrets killing penelope every single time (as she was the victim/key). at one point, her soul couldn't handle the deaths anymore & escaped to a different world/korea with the wizard's help. remember during the hunting competition, the prince & penelope fell from a cliff & took shelter in a cave with a skeleton? that's actually the wizard from the past/alternate timeline (don't ask me why his skeleton is there tho lol). but it was the remains of his last spell casting that yeeted her out of this world then to korea. her death somehow revolves around the end of that world so the wizard sacrificed himself & casted a spell to save the last remaining hope (penelope). & ofc the current wizard has no memory of it. i think this is the last time penelope can ever reincarnate. so if she dies, it's over for real this time. & the otome game she happens to play back in korea was part of the wizard's spell casting that pulled her back into this world. this world that she believes to be a game is in fact real. everything & everyone is real.

PART 2:







fast forward to yvonne's downfall. she dies. hooray! something about collecting the shards of the mirror opens a porthole to korea. through the mirror, penelope sees her body (back in korea) lying in a hospital bed & has been in a coma for quite a while. she sees her father & 2 step-brothers praying & talking to her unconscious body (i think there's like a time lapse of everything that went under after she was hospitalized). they're basically living in hell. everyone's depressed, they visit her every day to repent & pray for her recovery. it turns out that her idiot step-brothers are super tsundere & treated her badly to get a reaction out of her. they never hated her but just wanted her to be a part of the family (insanely poor execution if i may add *rolls eyes*). when she moved out to college, the brothers intentionally put her in a shitty apartment thinking that she'd come crying back for their help. well, it backfired since she literally starved herself to pay rent & survive which resulted in her hospitalization. they find out that the cause was due to a combination of malnutrition, stress, sleep deprivation, depression & all sorts of shit they had put her through. the dad especially feels guilty bc his daughter's symptoms are so beyond unbelievable for a daughter raised in a rich household to have experienced. father of the year!

anyways, penelope basically gets to choose whether she wants to return to korea or stay in her original body/original world & live happily ever after with the prince. but in order to choose, she needs to sacrifice either body. her current body or the unconscious one. she goes through the mirror with the prince & talks to the 3 of them. they realize they're talking to their sister & ask her to come back to them. she refuses & says her goodbyes & that's when her body in a coma dies. they're all crying & it fades out. too late for regret!

PART 3:







& the moment you've been waiting for! after everything, the idiot brother (derrick) realizes that he loves penelope & confesses. she brutally rejects him & cuts ties with him completely (queen lol). we all know by now that the prince is the ml & so they eventually get married & have a couple of kids. she even works as an archeologist as a side job. fast forward to the future, she rarely visits (or maybe even never visits) the duke's residence, but still keeps contact with her father & other brother & do family gatherings with the children WITHOUT derrick lmao. derrick is pretty much shunned from anything involving her. he's never invited, can never meet her children & isn't allowed anywhere near her presence since she's literally the queen now. & i imagine he will regret his actions for the rest of his life bc he loved her too late & she doesn't give a shit about his feelings for her lmao. there's a bunch of lovey dovey moments with her & the prince which i haven't read yet but am sure it's a very pleasant ending. the end. damn, i wrote a whole novel lmao

WHOAA thank uuu!!! sooo satisfying how she handles all these ppl who mistreated her lol its been so long i totally forgot abt her family back home omg.. they all got what they deserved though especially derrick i hope he is never happy again
