I have no sympathy for the parents: literally putting their kid in the middle of the fight. Like dude, he’s a little kid! His mind protected him, and the result is that in his head his dad is “gone.” If I was there when they explained to the expert(?) I would’ve told them off like crazy!

Believe me, the novel makes more sense than what these scenes show. The novel shares more about what the MC thoughts are and a little more of what’s going on. I do like that I put a face to their names now but I high recommend reading the novel first. I do know it’s completed and I need to go back and finish it lol
