Obviously bc she didnt remember anything thats why they have no chemistry. If i was her i would also react like her. Imagine being torture as a maid and out of no where some dude kill a person infront of you and dragged you to a castle and give you good treatment w/o knowing whats going on and then your blood got sucked out by that very person and your only friend got punished like that. Anyone would have bad chemistry with him. But now that they finally show their backstory lets hope for the best

It's not random, its showing how they are all connected, even the FL was reincarnated or something. Elios is from the reincarnation of the Phoenix god and Dragon god, Hitomi is of course Hitomi, and the little girl with pink hair that the Dragom god picked up is connected to the FL.

I've read up to 100+ and he doesn't really know about the abuse, but is aware of Maxi not loving herself. I haven't been reading lately so idk if he learns in any specific chapter. However, Maxi slowly shows more signs of her low-self esteem during several interactions and Riftan becomes skeptical on why she's been acting this way. It's a slow progress and its more focused on Maxi becoming to love herself
Oh my it's dragged out for sure.
