Honestly yeah I was reading side ch. 9 and got confused like why is there only 1 more chapter left?? So I thought that it would be like tharntype and have an extra long last episode fills the plot holes but then it was just disappointing n rushed :/

It’s not about being black. It’s about being tanned or not tanned. It is a norm in Asia today. Look at make up in Asia or beautiful gurus or Asia and it would be obviously. My parents parents bought me white soaps and lotion since I swam a lot as a child. My mom would say I look like I am from the farm area and that I look poor. When I went to the Philippines one of my cousins casually complained how dark her baby was and talked about buying products to bleach is skin so he can be paler. People saw as a fact that the rich city folk were pale and the poor country side people were dark.
I think that's the point though? this is the first time i am seeing a dark skinned mc in shoujo manga. I don't think it is right that they are changing that. I get that beauty standards exist, but it that doesn't mean that you should just accept them. It is the same with stories where they have a chubby girl or a girl with freckles... you mc doesn't have to be the epitome of beauty to be amazing.
Definitely not, uniqueness is amazing on its own. But she is a girl who is meant to be around the big world, being the subject of every talks and thus being a proper example of beauty standard is important (I mean if she wants to be really accepted). Of course I need to say that beauty standards changes at every era so it's not a bad thing nor not being the standard.
Like someone says, just chills. Standards are meant to be, and people who are not too. That's the cycle of everything in this world.
I mean, if the story was about a girl who was known for being very beautiful, i could see why they would try to play her as a standard beauty. This story isn't about that though. The MC is an outcast and is considered strange looking because of her skin. Giving her lighter skin not only reduces the uniqueness of hate MC, but also doesn't make much sense for the plot.

Well I said that because she will turn white which will make her more appreciated by the society. Like someone said, this is not racism here but being tanned or not. Anyway now she is unique but the fact is that she still will needs to go with the standard beauty to be really accepted as a fair heroine.
