WAURRRRRRRRRR ty for uploading that easter egg compilation like thats one fawking delicious ass meal!!!!!
god i love love LOVEEEE the amount of love and attention to detail that the writer puts in for this work like AUGHHHHH i can tell how much this is a labor of love and a meticulously crafted out story cuz like i kinda caught the whole four leaf clover song thing and the fox ticket "mommy's precious memory" thing, but REN WEI'S LYING TICK BEING HER RUBBING HER FINGERS??? AND THAT WAS HOW YOUZI FIGURED OUT HER UNDERCOVER AGENT IDENTITY?????? AUGJEJDJEJFJRJDJEKDJEKKDKEKD [insert destiny's child so good clown tiktok meme] likeeee lorddddddd i wasn't expecting that at all cause usually little habits and gestures like that aren't included in like these webtoon/comic formats, like i may be wrong cause it's only based on the stuff i read but like. it's usually easier to catch on to like body language clues like these when it's in novels or films/tv shows 'cause it's easier in those mediums to incorporate them in a subtle/low-key way so audience attention isn't going to be drawn towards them - meanwhile, with webtoons/comics, depending on the genre, they don't tend to focus on drawing full body shots unless its like a full on shounen battle in which it's a totally different and incomparable situation with what is shown here, which is trying to include a clue using small gestures. like from what i notice, esp in mangas and webtoons dealing in romance, they tend to close up on the face and emphasize expressions or highlight outfits when drawing full body/beyond the face. there will be cases when they draw a person expressing emotions through their body language - ie arms crossed when feeling hurt/anxious being pretty common - but like in those cases, it becomes pretty obvious to the readers what the gesture is and what it's meant to signify. so like i just wanna really praise the fact that the artist here is able to so seamlessly blend in that detail of ren wei's tick into like the story art and IN A WAY that's subtle and unnoticeable; it's amazing that it comes back in a signifcant way too and is a fucking like,,, led signboard of what youzi actually feels regarding ren wei cuz like DAMN BITCH we didn't even notice that shit!!!! you are actually so down bad for her im actually impressed!!!!!!!!! like through this i can really feel that the author put a lot of care into their characters and their worldbuilding and auvnrjcjejdkek I LOVE SEEING SHIT LIKE THAT.
anw this was a long ass paragraph just to say i love lesbians and i love good storytelling <3

kuran being a sneakerhead lmfaoooooo so butch-coded i neeeeed someone like her...
that aside i love how down-to-earth and realistic the characters are?!?!! like the author really nailed their personalities and was able to really include the small little intricacies that made it apparent that they are lgbt like they ping off my gaydar BADDD but tbf gl does a good job of having like, that "by gays for gays" kinda atmosphere/aura/quality, aside from the ones made by straight men for the male gaze which are obvious at first glance... i'll always be pleasantly surprised by the quality and overall superiority of gl compared to bl like you can tell these characters are GAY PEOPLE instead of weird fetishized caricatures... this manga just seems so much more so "by gays for gays" though, like the characterization and writing really nailed it! like these two really seem like regular old oomf 1 and oomf 2 on a gay person's twitter tl you feel me... like kuran being a weird girl who's a born hater and enjoys infodumping??? ichiko being a fluffy cute introverterted girlcringe who's into cute things and wants to jump on tiktok trends????? i feel right at home with them LMFAO in fact i see myself jn kuran minus the sneakerhead part LOL anw point in case is this manga really captured the quintessential modern gay teen girl experience and i marvel at how crazy it is that these things can feel so universal like idk i think it's beautiful that even with cultural language and national barriers the shared lgbt experience can bring gay people together no matter where they come from (shrug emoji)
final note but i also think it's cool that the manga is inundated with neat little trivia info like it was cool learning how subcultures came to be and how air jordans got so popular... we love you infodumping weird girl kuran never stop being you!!!

my comfort bl forreal...... i love my married couple... pixiu and wen xi need to scooch over actually let me join yalls relationship cuz god knows i'll never find anything close </3.
i love their relationship so so much actually... love my wifeguy pixiu like yeah wifeguy you go wifeguy!!! he's so whipped it's lovely <33
on a more serious note i fucking love this manhua so much yall dont understand it's so warm and fluffy and comforting but beyond that it's actually so GOOD and the characters are so charming and well-written like the characters actually have distinct personalities!! actual drives, ambitions, and motivations!!! GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT!!!!! very basic elements in writing that is unfortunately so massively lacking in the webtoon scene that we cheer nonetheless for their presence here, especially since it's all well-executed!!
also i can tell just how much love and care the author pours into this story, especially into her characters like i can tell she crafted them so lovingly and had a lot of fun doing so like idk guys i can feel the author's enjoyment in creating and crafting her story with her little characters just radiating from this webtoon i hope this webtoon goes on for a long time cuz the characters are so terribly dear to me now id genuinely be so sad to part with them

dpubftb being adapted into a manhua means it's clearing 99% of all the derivative slop we call bl that's coming out these days - the webtoons especially.
im gonna hype this up like a powerscaling dudebro IDGAF. chi xiaochi is my GOAT and he can clear goku + vegeta + piccolo + frieza + gojo (sorry to the gege gaggers ik this is still an open wound for yall) + naruto + luffy + ichigo bleach + chainsaw man + superman + batman with prep in a fight... all at once. AND even if he can't (big if) no one mentioned and more can even slay as much as him... cxc is serving CUNT on an astronomical ground-quaking 8.9 on the richter scale of MOTHER.
if any of yall speak on him + dpubftb then TRUST i am manifesting yalls favorite characters to end up like gojo and for yalls favorite mangas/mangakas to fall off like jujutsu SHITsen and GAYGAY akuTRASHmi.

christ almighty that red-headed piece of shit rapist needs to hurry up and die already i cant read through this without feeling anger coursing through my veins... like anger is literally i feel reading this need that hitman to hurry tf UP and come back to skin that cunt alive before boiling him in a pot of irradiated nuclear-grade chemical acid so he wont even be able to leave behind healthy offsprings .

see the whole vibe in the chat was neutral until you came along typing your two cents nobody asked for Like Chile this is chapter 53 and you're holding a grudge on something that happened in chapters 3-6, at this point don't even bother to continue reading this cus I genuinely think ur a little mental...

sorta half-review half-just flat out hateration dressed up in the most pretentious, grotesquely-pretty looking wrapping paper, but mostly a chucklefuck outlet for myself because spewing half-serious half-giggly vitriol on mangago for free is cheaper than taking anger management classes. anw, on to the word vomit:
fucked myself over reading this because it's honestly so fucking doo-doo dogshit pile of garbage dump HONEST TO GOD MID AS FUCK but i cant. fucking fully let go because the stupid as shit sunk-cost fallacy has trapped me and also you know that fucking irritating ass ITCH to see something through to the end even though this "something" is just a steaming pile of fuckfest? yeah. yeah, this is another bl manhwa that crosses that fucking checklist for me.
ive went on a rambly rage-fuelled tangent up on the weird timeline posts thing when comments were off but i just wanna reiterate how fucking BLAND this is... like mama. this shit is FLAT. flatter than thin-as-fuck crepes. flatter than gojo satoru's concave asscheeks (love u my dude.). the chemistry between the leads isn't even NOT there, it's in the fucking negatives - hell, my socked feet has more fucking friction and chemistry meeting the smooth marble floors of my house that i keep slipping on than whatever the FUCK transparent air vapors the two main leads have between them that the author fucking insists on calling as "chemistry".
and GOD, don't even get me STARTED on how the art just fucking HIGHLIGHTS the whole weird Uncanny Valley of it all - if the artist intend for the main leads of this webtoon to fail against actual fucking robots in a Turing Test when contested on the topic of romance, or you know, just Normal Human Interactions and Conversations, then confuckingratulations, you've gotten your shitty, shitty point across. actually glad they took this artistic approach actually - both the artist AND the author - because then we'll get gems like that one chapter where seokyeon was internally MOONING. over how yeowon just looks at him soooOooOOOoOoOO passionately compared to the other employees, which is then superimposed over a panel of yeowon looking at him like he would look at a fucking clearance aisle where all the lines of product are not only not even 10% off, but 5% - which is so clearly fucking insulting you may as well just have jacked up the original fucking price over offering this nothing-ass discount. which also, mind you, is actually the same expression he has been using to look at the other employees - and also the same expression he's been using to look at seokyeon for all of the past fucking chapters. so congratufuckinglations, webtoon creators, your artistic definition of "passionate love" is to have someone look at a supposed love interest as if they were second best to a slice of fucking Kraft cheese singles.
so, all in all, they hit the fucking triple crown here of awful writing, stiff expressions, and flat-as-fuck romance, but forget being crowned champion, they couldn't even place runner-up at the Dogshit BL Comics Championships, because surprise surprise - this webtoon isn't actually THAT bad. and this is where they commit the grave, unmistakeably numero uno most fatal flaw - of being boring. of, to repeat myself here, being BLAND. they couldn't even have the gall to make this, like, the most fucked up shit ever or the worst fucking thing i've ever fucking read - NO. they just made this BAD, but not the worst - MID, but nothing less and certainly nothing more. i'm not even fucking entertained or outraged at all - im just frustrated, at how fucking... SUBPAR everything is, but also miffed that its not that fucking trashy. this webtoon is the equivalent of like, a fucking table leg or a desk corner sticking out that you accidentally bump into - it slightly stings or aches in the place you bump it and it makes your day worse, but its not gonna fucking ruin your entire day nor does it hurt you so much to the point where all you can think about is the pain; at most, you'll feel irritated, but it's not even worth pushing back or fixing it back to its proper place because as much as it is a nuisance, its not THAT much of a nuisance, and you're rushing and you got bigger, better things to worry about. so, you just shove this annoying little stuck-out leg back, internally, into the recesses of your mind, all but forgetting the existence of this sad, pathetic, little nothing-ass trivial piece of shit nuisance until the next time you bump against it again (i.e., in this case, seeing it again on mangago's list of updated mangas) and feel that annoyance flare up.
so yeah, all-in-all, this ... is mid. its the big 3 B's - Boring, Bland, and Bnot worth my time. it is, in fact, such a nothing-ass webtoon that by the time i was halfway through writing this review-hateration, it wasnt even about the webtoon anymore - honestly, at the midway point i was just treating it as a fun little writing exercise; how much more can i flex my writing chops here and how much more can i fit in all my fanciful little hating whimsies into a creative writing flair? so yeah, honestly, i dont even probably believe in half of the shit i fucking wrote here, i was just talking to talk cause i fucking love writing in a pretentious as shit hating manner LMFAO - also, not gonna hold you, but i couldn't even dredge myself through actually sitting down and like. properly DIGESTING the story. like i was SKIMMING like a motherfucker because the story, the writing, the pacing, the dialogues, the characters, the art, the romance... everything pissed me off. everything was so robotic and unnatural that i was sure they fucking fed this shit into a fucking AI learning machine and birthed the entirety of ChatGPT - Cloudburst out-AI-generated artwork actual AI-generated artworks - bet the webtoon author and artists are fucking proud of that, huh?
but yeah blah blah blah, tldr 2-3/10, it was bland, dont know why they bothered with the epilogue when its literally just a bland, boring continuation of the main story that still hasnt added anything like, at ALL, to the story so far.
if u read this far then... damn? i salute you truly. idk why u stuck around this long but hope u enjoyed me rocking my fucking shits off; u can probably tell im off my meds LOL

Lmao I was gonna say tldr, BUT! I ended up reading everything and laughed the whole time
We have the same type of raging mindset, with a sprinkle of adhd that this was hilarious to read
I'm honestly so done with this webtoon lmao ik we on mangago but it's SO BLAND and as you mentioned it's DEFINITELY BNOT WORTH MY TIME
LOL

loving the story so far... i like that the mc is powerful. he may traditionally be considered OP by some but idgaf LOL also he's only OP in these rly niche obscure cases and situations. its a nice change from the usual OP ml and damsel-in-distress mc. in fact i like that the mc is the one leading the plot and is being an active agent in the story while the ml is Just Some Guy (wrong he's actually a pretty famous actor or something but his Just Some Guy energy levels are off the charts)

theres something so relatable and realistic about what they're feeling, kei especially... like i totally get being so scared of showing the other person your bad sides and thinking you're not deserving of being loved and being in a relationship because of trauma, so glad to see him braving the first step to expressing himself though :""))
also i just really, REALLY love how the author handles their internal thoughts and feelings like the writing is really superb, i really feel like i understand where these characters are coming from, what shapes their motivations and desires, their struggles... tbh all basic creative writing foundations but it's extremely rare to see these elements not only present but executed well in a BL LOL
i really love the approach the author is taking in developing their relationship - this is, imo, the stand out point of this manga. from starting out physically to them both realizing their feelings for each other, then them trying to vocalize that and what they want from and with each other while awkwardly trying to navigate getting into a relationship together... all the stages of the process felt so natural and endearing like the author really captured the essence of what the romance between these two eccentric high school boys is like :") seeing how they communicated in the most recent chapter and just how natural their dialogue was was also really nice; it's actually really really neat that it's not really an insta-get together type of thing - kei has some things he needs to work on, and he vocalizes why he thinks he would let masafumi down and wouldn't fit him. i LOVE that they ended up talking it out and agreeing to start off as friends, like it's such a realistic approach and the intimacy and fondness with which the both of them expresses for each other is so natural and realistic too.
i especially like seeing how masafumi and kei contrast with each other. it's amazing how the author nails kei's character really well for the readers considering that we've only been shown really small glimpses of kei's past. reading the most recent chapter in kei's pov was a really effective way of demonstrating the key elements of his character, and how he differs from masafumi - seeing how bright, cheerful, and outright blinding masafumi is in kei's eyes, both in terms of his personality and his passion for painting, then seeing how kei struggles to express himself the way masafumi does and what he actually thinks about himself really endeared me to him. it helps that his feelings about self-worth and his fears were really relatable too; it's a far-cry from masafumi's eccentricities and his feverish passion for art and this contrast really just complements their dynamic well. the character writing for both is just really well done, i'm excited to get to know more of kei as a character since the author has already effectively cemented masafumi's character for the past few chapters - i loved getting to know him, learning of his eccentricites, seeing how his passion for art came to be and how the author took us through his creative process and his thoughts on painting; can't wait to see the same for kei!
finally, i wanted to say that the author really just captured the awkward and endearing quality of their romance extremely well - even though the premise and origin of their relationship was pretty out there, the progression in their relationship and feelings was realistic and natural, and most of all, it's very boyish! to reiterate, the author expertly captured the romance between these two high school boys, awkward stumbling blocks and self-worth issues and all. it all feels very youthful and sentimental (barf im only in my early twenties why do i feel so old writing this LMFAO) and the author is just an expert at writing that atmosphere.
anw if u read till the end of this review..... damn congrats i cant believe u put urself thru my nonsensical ramblings jejdjejks
haha *through tears* what the fuck? what the fuck
