Ok I'm totally not defending the older brother's actions but I really do blame his parents for part of how he turned out. They basically abandoned and neglected their kids for work, and made their oldest son take on the role of his little brothers father. So instead of living a normal life of a teenager, he had to raise his little brother and have his world revolved around him. And whenever he tried to go out with friends, he had to keep coming home because his brother was lonely (and also probably feeling abandoned by his parents). Again not defending his scary behavior!
It's not defending his behavior, but it definitely explains it. The only way I'll forgive the brother is if he actually apologizes and starts to live his own life. I mean, he literally saved himself when he thought he was doing everything for his brother. I'm glad that was enough to make him realize that he wanted to live for himself, even at his brother's expense. If it was true that his brother was his world, he would have saved him or even died with him. I really hope this becomes a redemption story for him. And he helps Hangyeol against their parents. Because if he's like this at the age of 21, I can't even imagine how horrible their parents are for them to raise him like that BARELY, and then disappear.
