this chapter shows how some of us have different boundaries when it comes to relationships with the opposite sex lol some people are okay with their s/o talking or hanging out with friends of the opposite sex regardless of time/place, some arent and thats okay. at the end of the day, what matters is communication and mutual understanding.
the fact that yamada felt like he hurt akane and went to apologise immediately is already telling that he cares a lot about akane and tries to understand her pov. he might not be as emotionally in tune with akane as some of us might want but i think this is a healthy turning point for yamada and akane's relationship
similarly with akane, the fact that she already knows how yamada acts around anybody regardless of gender and treats them as a friend makes her want to be understanding, even if shes uncomfortable about it. im not saying she shouldnt voice her discomfort but you can see how theyre both trying to understand and make things work for each other, even if they dont understand it.
we all have different boundaries but for me, personally, i think its sweet at how yamada and akane are trying to face the current situation. its not the best way, yes, but the mangaka displaying this flaw of how they approach these types of obstacles in their relationship is refreshing. chin up, everyone, yamada and akane (especially yamada) are still learning
