the rape joke is definitely not the reason why this got cancelled. china is very strict with their censorship whenever it comes to gl and bl, and authors can be arrested for it. over 50 danmei writers have already been arrested and given up to 5 years in prison. some of them have been posting their work on twitter with the help of vpn, but it’s still very risky. even if they manage to post, many of them have been facing a lot of online harassment for “breaking the law”.
