New art style is so pretty. I forced myself to read the manhwa before even though the art is ugly because i love the novel lol
Not OP, but this seems to be a common theme with novel readers. Most people who read the novel first don't like the OG style, whereas most people who found the story as a manhwa first like the OG style.
It's not ugly per se, I would really like it for a modern slice of life, or comedy, or even modern action. But not fantasy; this genre, just doesn't fit the vibe. The manhwa obviously took a few creative liberties to fit the vibes a bit better, which is how I can see why manhwa readers like it.
However, if you read the novel, it actually reads VERY similar, almost identical, to Otome Isekai (I became the Hero's Rival, My Husband Hides his Beauty etc.). That's because the author IS an OI author. Therefore novel readers were expecting the same amount of shalalala and sparkles as OI manhwas, and were disappointed by the very simple style.
See, this manhwa doesn't actually really attract primarily action readers, but primarily OI readers due to the very similar tropes and patterns it has. So the art style has to cater to that demographic, if that makes sense. I mean, try imagining some of your favourite stories in art styles of a story with complete opposite vibes and imagine that the story was told with that style, and you'll see what I mean very quickly.
hi uh so im here again crying haha fuck I NEED THEM BACK
