Do you remember something more? Plot, genres, how characters looked etc?

Aside from the fact that it’s a magic anime, no not really. This is why I’m struggling so much! ;-;

Was it new anime or old one? Do you remember what hair color had MC?
I'm addicted to watching fantasy anime, so if you just remember something more I'll probably guess at some point (⌒▽⌒)

I really hope so… this has been on my mind for a while now haha. I want to say that the guy had white hair… but I’m not sure. I think the scene I’m thinking about the two guys started fighting because he was protecting the person he was with from being taken away?? Possibly… I’m not much help! (⊙…⊙ )

It was definitely a newer style anime, I think I stopped watching because It didn’t haven’t many episodes yet

My first idea was Gakusen Toshi Asterisk, but there were black chains and MC didn't wore blue, but violet. Blue reminds me more of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, but there control was not in the form of chains, but brainwashing.
I'm going to go through my list of anime, maybe something will come to my mind. If you remember something more then write ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

It’s not new new but I don’t think it was an old anime. Definitely looked new, art reminded me of spiritpact

I will try searching by art then. Same studio as Spiritpact worked on Gin no Guardian and Hitori no Shita. Similar art also had for example Jikan no Shihaisha. I am not sure about controled magic part in these three tho, cause I dropped them ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Btw could this what you are looking for be donghua(chinese anime)? In what language was it? Did the MC fight with magic sword or simply with magic?

Pretty sure it was Japanese, I’ve googled every single one you have suggested so far and still no luck, I’ve searched through so many pages of my archives and still nothing ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ I can’t remember if it was just plain magic, I think it was. In terms of the magic swords it’s not mo dao zu shi… although that is verrry good

Was it in historical setting or modern?

I'm still a little short on hints, so I'll write down everything that has come to mind so far.

* Talismans and/or chains:
- Tokyo Ravens - MC with sealed powers. It would be my first guess, but art here is definitely not like in SpiritPact
- Densetsu no Yuusha Densetsu - MC with blue cape and also sealed powers, just this part about him being controled by someone don't fit exacly
- Sousei no Onmyouji - well, all anime is about talismans, barriers ets, since mc is onmyouji
- Seiken Tsukai no World Break

* MC that gets hurt by his power
- Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka?
- Blood Lad

I get the feeling that I’m the fight scene I remember, he was fighting to protect a child, to stop the child from being taken from him. But because of the seal on his powers, he struggled to do so but starts to break through the seal and hurts himself.

It's getting a little more specific. That leaves the question if character was old enough to be the child's father or was it sibling/someone else

As for now, check if it could be Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO. There MC in one timeline had wife and child.

I don't know if you've read Running on Empty, but it does have a really great plot that involves this in latter chapters

It might only be shounen ai though, but that part that involves one getting hurt really showed how important they are to each other
